Review: Better than Rico!! - When I first bought my Bari, I decided to cheap out and get a $30 Rico mouthpiece and it was bad to be honest. I decided to upgrade and this was a huge improvement and easier to use, it’s definitely more expensive but it’s worth it compared to the $30 Rico. Review: Great mouthpiece! - My son needed a mouthpiece for his saxophone, and this was recommended by both the band director and my brother-in-law who plays professionally. We are super pleased with the quality, fit, comfort, and sound from this mouthpiece. The only thing that would have made it better is if it came with a ligature. ## Features - Yamaha's official original-equipment 5C baritone sax mouthpiece, identical to what's included with new Yamaha baritone saxophones. - The 5C size has a slightly larger tip opening for a richer tone with excellent flexibility and response. - Made from safe and durable phenol resin plastic. - State of the art manufacturing produces an extremely high quality and consistent mouthpiece. - Fits any brand of standard baritone saxophone. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #5,273 in Musical Instruments ( See Top 100 in Musical Instruments ) #1 in Baritone Saxophones Mouthpieces | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 294 Reviews | ## Images ![5C Baritone Saxophone Mouthpiece, Standard Series - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71RsLtSw6lL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: What ligature works well with this mouthpiece?** A: There are many types of ligatures available. It’s a matter of personal choice. I played professionally for years using the basic low cost ligatures before trying the more expensive ones. **Q: Does this come with a ligature? It isn't shown in the photo** A: This mouthpiece does not come with a ligature. Only the mouthpiece is included. **Q: I'm buying this for my son and I am clueless about saxophones. Her says he needs a ligature too. Is there a specific product that goes with this?** A: A ligature is what holds the reed on the mouthpiece. Many mouthpieces come with a ligature, but some don’t. So you’ll have to make sure he does have one. I hope that helps. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better than Rico!! *by P***O on May 2, 2026* When I first bought my Bari, I decided to cheap out and get a $30 Rico mouthpiece and it was bad to be honest.
