Definitely 5 Star Cute!!
My complex does not allow for bird feeders, so this guy was the answer for my "limitations." (Yes, I can prove others have feeders.) He sits on the side of an oak tree that faces my porch, so others don't see him. While I am not fond of the "picture hook band" on the back that you hang on your own nail you hammer into the tree, when the squirrels knock it off the nail, it doesn't break when it hits the ground and I can retrieve it. I have to figure out the answer to that. My only other complaint is that the mouth is SO shallow, that it holds 1-2 tablespoons of seed and ticks off the squirrels....the ducks love what drops. Oh, the birds haven't found it yet. I had to figure out something to "lift" the jaw, but a made a perfect adjustment to him until the designer/manufacturer does.....I went to the Dollar Tree and bought a disposable cupcake tin. I "square-cut" one corner cup....it "molds" perfectly in his lower jaw, you can mold it flat, and now he can hold more and it looks like he has a lower lip. The foil doesn't show because it is silver, he is gray. But, as I said, even though I had to make adjustments, he still gets a 5 Star because of how cute he is. Put the tin somewhere for when you need a replacement...won't be for awhile...use the corner cups as the inside ones won't fit as well.

Very Entertaining
Had it for about 2 weeks. It took a week for the squirrels to find it, birds still have not came near it. I figure It will take more time for them to become brave enough to come near it. My wild squirrels love to play with the eyes. They constantly knock it off of the tree and I find them a few feet away from the base. The mouth part had held on surprisingly strong. I think that the squirrels are knocking the eyes off so the birds will eat the seed, so I will keep refilling it with the mixture of sunflower seeds, corn kernels the squirrels don't like the round bird seeds so they leave that alone. I got it so the squirrels would eat the seeds and stop smacking me in the head with pinecones and was hoping that the birds would quit eating my grass seeds. Hopefully they take to the feeder and I can test it out next year. Maybe it is time to move the eyes further apart and perhaps that will do the trick. It is very durable, despite playing hide and seek every day with the squirrels they eyes still look new. The mouth holds more seed than I first thought, it is still an everyday top it off, but not a twice a day thing, maybe that will change when both the squirrels and the birds are eating from it.

Such a cute addition to my yard!
I love this. It's very unique. Like other reviewers, the only problem is the fasterners on the back to hang on the tree. It's not the best choice and when you try to attach it, it doesn't hang onto the nails (I used 2 per eye) and doesn't keep it steady and firm against tree. It's very wobbly. Matter of fact, the next morning the eyes were on the ground from the squirrels jumping on them. But I don't give up and I had some two-sided outside thick tape I put on the bottom back of both eyes and the mouth and I hung on the nails and then pressed firmly against the tree for more support with the tape and it's done the trick holding it steady! I love how it completely matches my Pine treet!

Picture frame brackets don't work on the back
Fun idea, but not practical. The item won't stay on the tree with the brackets it has. Those are picture frame brackets on the back. Everything makes the face fall off the tree... wind, rain, squirrel, when the tree grows... not to mention you have to have it just right to balance against bark and sit straight. Horrible design. Not worth the money. Very disappointed. Nail/screw holes in the back would work better.

Color Shown Inaccurate
The one I received was a different color (brown, not gray) than shown in the picture. It didn't match the tree, so it looked ridiculous. It seemed like good quality, except, I'm skeptical that the single tiny piece of hardware on the back of the mouthpiece would remain intact for long.

It’s cute.
But the sawtooth holder was upside down and was a headache to fix so we could hang it.

Old man in the tree silly face
I like this item. Has a cheery, silly face of an old man. Cute product, looks sturdy enough, has cupped mouth for bird feed if you want. Will hand up next spring and surprise the squirrels. This is not a large item, so check out dimensions.

Avoid squirrels
Don't purchase if you have squirrels. They love to knock off the eyes and mouth. I'll need to think of a better way to mount them. The mounting bracket supplied isn't sufficient to keep wind or squirrels from easily knocking it off. Fun addition to the backyard anyway. Will probably bring it in for the winter.
