Weathermatic S20P light duty solenoid

I have been using a Rachio controller for about 8 years now. It reported a wiring error on one of my zones after it was on for about 10 minutes. None of our original 26 year old solenoids (Weathermatic M24E) had ever had an issue until now so I did not initially even think of the solenoid being an issue. After some research, I checked the solenoids resistance at the controller and it showed 6 ohms. All the others were showing around 32 ohms. I ordered this and it was a perfect replacement and is now working perfectly. It was extremely easy to swap out the old one. I screwed out the old and screwed in the new making sure not to overtighten as others have said. As an aside I was very impressed Rachio detected the very low resistance of the old solenoid and turned off the zone and reported a problem.

Solenoid screws in easily a seduced the issue of the valve not working electronically. Saves a lot of money since sprinkler guy doesn’t have to come to do the exact same fix b

The item was well packaged and arrived as expected and worked perfectly. It is more costly than a competitor brand such as orbit, but then I would have to change the whole valve assembly to use Orbit. Ironically, the whole valve assembly with solenoid would have been cheaper than this item, but I would have had to dig up my current one and go through all the nonsense of swapping it out. This was the path of least resistance.

Fit easily and resolved an issue with a faulty master valve. People complain about the cost but I was a hail Mary away from having to dig up and replace the entire master valve; this took about a minute to install so it was worth it.

One of my zones on my sprinkler system failed and after testing several issues it turned out to be the solenoid switch. This replacement was exactly what I needed and easy to install. Just make sure you cover the spring with your finger, or it might jump off. I purchased two in all just to have a spare.

Great. Replaced an S24B with this one (S20P) after I got sticker shock in replacing the S24B. I tried buying some random thing at Home Depot for $9 and realized it didn't actually fit. I then came on Amazon and also Googled around for the exact match. When I realized it was over $50 I started digging around for something that would work for a more modest budget. I came across this, a drop in replacement. It is not as strong in the solenoid department and more plasticy in the thread than what I was replacing. As it is a single zone on a residential sprinkler system, I'm not sure I need the extra solenoid strength that the S24B provided so I bought this 1/3 price option. So far it seems to work great, screwed it in, wired it up. 20 mins max to replace it. Turned on the sprinkler zone and it fired right up.
