Caffe Umbria Fresh Seattle Whole Bean Roasted Coffee, Leone Blend Light Roast 12oz. bag

I have been buying this decaf coffee forever, even from the previous company which has now changed its name to Caffe Umbria. I used to buy the 5 lb. bags directly from the company, but their postage has gotten high and they used to have a very discounted price point for buying 5 lbs. at a time. That is no longer so, so buying this way is a better deal and I don't have to deal with the big 5 lb. bag.

It's a decent mild coffee. I don't even understand why I drank it over the massive amount of other fancy brands. The only thing I can figure is it satisfyingly caffeinated yet mellow flavored. There's honestly nothing really noticable about the flavor except it's not bitter and no funky flavored after taste.One of my favorite middle coffees is Pike's place due to a bold yet smooth flavor. I guess this is like that without the bold flavor.The only real though odd comparison is to my motorcycle that I bought more for commuting than outright fun.It's a SV 650 and I doubt coffee snobs understand this, but it's boringly perfect. Basically it has no faults so much so that it has no character.

So, im a Prime member and i have ordered A LOT of coffee from Amazon, some good some abysssmal it really is a mix dare i say bag with freshness. I want to say Im not a coffee snob, im an afficanado, I have tried hundreds of different coffees from all over North America, and Italy, I even roast my own beans. Even though i live in the Northwest I am not a fan of the the northwest style roast, dark and oily,I prefer a more medium classic Italian roast. So I ordered this coffee to see a. if its fresh, it was fairly so and b. to see what an Italian style roaster from Seattle can do. Bottom line really good, it is on par with many of the Italian brands I have drank in flavor and roast, but the great news is its a lot fresher than many i have tried if for no other reason than geography. If you like say Illy, or Kimbo youll probably like this. The great thing is the bean surface is dry so for my Super Auto it goes through the hopper well. I plan on trying the other flavors as well.

I actually roast my own beans at home and have to say this is just as smooth. Had some hits and misses buying coffee on Amazon. I would have to say this and Blue Bottle are 2 of the best IMHO.. Highly recommend…

I am not a crazy fan of coffee but I do understand taste in general. For example, I am a very astute tea enthusiast. What I can say about these beans is that they are my personal favorite espresso bean. When prepared as a "flat white", I feel like I'm in Italy just tasting it. Everything else to me tastes so rough versus this being so smooth. My personal order is: "12 oz Flat white with 2 extra long pull shots and 1 sugar, with less milk than normal". This gives a perfect espresso-milk ratio that I really enjoy.
