Went in easy and fixed the problem.

I installed the actuator and the door opened with no problems u til I hit the key fob. I tried both handles and used the key to unlock the door. None of the doors unlock when use the key. The function when use the key and turn it until all the windows roll down or up does not work anymore. Now I have to cut a hole in the putter skin of door to break the actuator to get the door to open to fix it. I got to do this to 3 of my doors. To fix this it will cost me a lot of money and time doing painting of used door skins. Piece of crap actuators!! I’m really pissed. Every time I want to get in my car I have to enter through my passenger side door and climb into the drivers seat now until I get this fixed

It fits perfectly. But... when running the diagnostic The diagnostic shows that the car actuator is not an original Volkswagen part, so it always comes up as a failure. But it works.

Have to take off dood skin to change this. Also make sure to test door handle before shutting door after replacing!! Only recommend doing if you have experience working on cars. Also need special tool to remove bolts from actuator. It was an 8mm triple torque I believe? Looks like a 12 point star bit.What it fixed: I had a problem getting my key fob to honk when I push lock. Walk around the vehicle and see which door did NOT lock. That is your bad door lock actuator. Took me about an hour and a half to change. Problem solved. All doors lock now and horn honks with the key fob now.

Very good to deal with

This is the second lock actuator I’ve had to install. The OEM part lasted 15 years. The 1st aftermarket one lasted 3 years. I suspect I’ll get about the same life out of this one (3 years). If you’re going to keep your vehicle for a long time, it’s probably worth buying the OEM part. Otherwise these aftermarket units will get you by.

I think this is for a car that drives on the opposite side of the road in the US.. The left driver side has no place for the key. It is on the right passenger side. Useless here in America.
