Scaredy Squirrel Has a Birthday Party

My almost 5 year old grandson loves this book. His birthday is next month so he made his own Top Secret folder for his birthday. He never tires of this book or the other four Scaredy Squirrel books that we have.

Cute book. The way a lot of this book is written is not my favorite. I’m not a fan of reading lists and subtext on pages rather than the main text. This book is filled with it and almost every page you are reading subtext and pieces that are apart of the graphics. It’s still a cute story though.

Hilarious illustrations. The illustrations are the meat of the book. It could have had a better storyline, but I think the author was allowing the plot to speak for itself. A story about a neurotic, "scaredy" squirrel who plans a Bday party for himself using a dozen unnecessary todo lists, certifications, safety precautions, etc. only for a crowd of friendly dogs to come crash the party.

My children love him! He teaches wonderful lessons and we are collectors of all things Scaredy Squirrel!! I wish we could meet him!

My son loves the scaredy squirrel books. I have also read them to his 2nd grade classroom, and the kids in there loved them, too. It also made them think of telling me all sorts of stories that were similar in some way to those of scaredy squirrel's. These books are incredibly funny, written such that adults can enjoy them also while reading them to or with their kids. Great for a child's independent reading also. I recommend the whole series.

I saw this book at one of my meetings and thought it was really cute. So, I purchased a set on Amazon. My preschool students liked it as much as I did.

Cute book about birthdays. My boys enjoyed scaredy squirrel and this story.

I am an elementary school teacher and a parent of a 4-year-old girl. She adores these books and wants to read them often. I think they are very funny and well done. The illustrations are amusing and there is a lot going on other than the words - there was a good attention to detail by the author and illustrator. I eagerly await the next Scaredy Squirrel book!

These scaredy Squirrel books are fantastic. My daughter loved it. I have even bought her the Scaredy Squirrel plush.

Great book, very witty with great illustrations. My five year old son loves Scaredy Squirrel, this one quickly became a favourite.

My daughter can't read and she knows the whole book by heart, word by word. That's how many times I've read it to her :)
