A love that never came to be, a letter that ruined it all, and secrets that shred and heal... Rain Noles left Sterling Shore to break free from the painful life she had, but she left behind the man she loved, expecting him to come after her. When he didn't, resentments festered, and Rain lost faith in the love she felt couldn't have been stronger. Dane Sterling watched his best friend walk away, but he assumed it was only temporary. He didn't realize she was walking out of his life. And now she's back in Sterling Shore and his life. Life has a way of creating a path for fate to travel. Despite their buried resentments, Dane is there when Rain needs someone the most. But as much as life gives, it also takes away. It's only the strong who brave worst times. Review: Fun read - Overall, this is a great book that I really enjoyed. I was a little hesitant to try this one based on some of the other reviews but I really liked some of the author's other pieces, so I gave it a try. I can see why some of the other reviewers had the opinions they did on this piece, the overall tone is not like the other books the author has written. The other books like; Hooked on the Game, Ashed & Tagged, etc. are a bit more fast paced with a lot of drama that read more like mystery/romance novels. This book is definitely not that, it's more of a heart warming, love story. It's written about 2 people, Rain and Dane, who fell madly in love with each other at 13 but neither really made their feelings known. Life steps in and adds a few twists, which pull them apart for several years, only to reconnect again making the ending super sweet. The intimate scenes are not as graphic as some of the other books, as it's really is told more from a love story point of view. It's a fast read but I still really enjoyed the story. This book picks up where Ash & Tag, Wren & Erica and Kade & Raya are already together and they have bit parts through the book. If you enjoyed the author's other pieces, I think you would enjoy this as well. Review: Good Series - I have really enjoyed reading this series. A lot of humanity in each character. Plenty of really spicy, sexy moments and a few good belly laughs in each book. Really imaginative author. My only issue is that I thought I had purchased the entire series and realized too late that she had written two more which I can not find any where.

Love story
This is much more of a classic love story with some massive miscommunication thrown in. There is a little Raya, if you loved her from the first book there's a nice scene you'll enjoy. I'm a bit confused how Raya and Rain know each other though, since Rain left Sterling Shore for college and hasn't been back until now and Raya only came for college. This book is more of a sweet romance without much steam. The teaser chapter for the next book is almost steamier than this entire book. Rain is a cancer survivor and there are a few discussions about it that are well done. I really hope Britt gets a book at some point, I loved her.

The Best Read
Wow Ok I was waiting for Dane's story with Rain and it was great, I was not let down at all. But him not getting the letter and her not knowing about killed me. You just wish they would have talk about it all.Men are from another Planet. LOL Also loved the big wine party when Kade gave Raya her on bottle of wine and a Ring, This is the best one yet and they keep getting better. If you want a true love story this will make you Cry and Happy. I can't wait to read about the rest of the Sterling Boys. Thank you so much for a great read.

wasted time, fear
A story of friendships, misunderstandings, wasted time, fear, and love. Rain got the short end when it comes to genetics, but hit the jackpot when it comes to loving friends. How anyone could keep from being jealous over her 5 best friends, her boys, the Sterling Boys is beyond me. No wonder girls never liked her. The Sterling Boy's (Dane, Kode, Dale, Corbin, and Mav) love and loyalty for her and vice versa made this book. Rain and Dane, almost too much with the rhyming names, have loved each other since their early teens, but other than one night haven't been together as a couple. Two best friends that share everything with one another, but are too afraid to tell the other what they truly want. Misunderstandings lead to 6 lost years and almost ruin their chance at a future. Frustrating. I liked that Dane wasn't a manwhore, unusual in books these days and made me like him even more. I had mixed feelings about Rain. She loved her boys, but didn't trust them with her health when she needed them the most. Then she abandoned them all. Not cool. The rest of the Sterling guys are great. Their egos, tempers, sweet moments, wild nights, all combine to make them enjoyable characters. Britt was fantastic. Her lack of social skills mixed with her innate brilliance made for a wonderful character. Tria's inclusion was nice. I love close sister bonds and this looks to be heading to a special friendship. I didn't like the way she was brought into the story though. This was the only time I wasn't crazy about Dane. This book had a little more humor than the first two in the series. It's nice to get the spots of amusement between the frustration, sexual tension, and actual sex. Overall a quick, fun read.

Just keeps getting better
Those Sterling Boys are are funny bunch, Rain is their touchstone, the one who lives them unconditionally, deal to them when they're idjits & gives them what for when they need it. But Rain loves Dane & Dane loves her, although through a series of mistakes & misfortunes things are not how they should be. Rain has come home after 6 years away, desperately missing her boys & Dane. Life is not gonna give them a break & is still putting obstacles in the way, but Dane is not letting anything get in the way of their relationship & will not give up. Awesome series, totally worth reading

Sterling Silver!
I love, love, love this story! Dane and Rain were absolutely made for each other. There is nobody else who could possibly be that one and only for either of them! They fell in love at thirteen and at eighteen had a magical night of making love. Then a terrible misfortune occurs that keeps them apart for many years, but when Rain comes back to Sterling Shores and they see each other, they both know it's not over... Fantastic writing, full of humor, angst, jealously, and hot, steamy sex scenes!! C.M. Owens has another jewel with this one! I highly recommend you read it!!!

I am glad I left the series alone till now to read
Honestly, I am glad I left the series alone till now to read, since I can just as easily icky up the next book since I seem to be flying through the. I am also a little sad. Since I missed out on reading this great series earlier and also cause I know I'm going to finish reading what has been released eventually :( Ok, so the review, or well my take on the book, since I'am not sure you can call what I write here a review :) anyway this book was awesome fro, start to finish. There was only one time jump which I'm glad about, and it helped set up the dynamic between Dane and Rain (the rhyme get me every time). This book does seem a little unrealistic as do others in the series and over the top but that is also one of the reasons why I think I read through them and enjoy them so much. All the Sterling boys, I guess you can include Kode in that too, even though what he did to sabotage Dane and Rane (and I kinda saw it coming but hoped I was wrong) really annoyed me till NO END, have a special thing about them that just has you wanting to know more. Overall the pacing of the book was great, I did wish that the main characters would have TALKED things out EARLIER, but you can't have everything can you?

Well!!!!
This is the third book in the series and here I am thinking it could not get any better. I love the first two but this one is just fab especially because of the topic and how incredibly brave Rain was from a very young age and then again as an adult. I just loved the speech she gave at the breakfast benefit to the women that were suffering with breast cancer and other illnesses that were affecting them and their families. But, also in this book you get an incredibly hot and sexy LOVE story proving that LOVE will win in the end. Can't wait for the next one. BRILLIANT.

Another big Hit in this series!! 5*
It took a long ride before Rain and Dane could finally have their way together, even if they had not enough sequences in the book where they can be together loving each other, it was a really good book with a good plot, with great twists and all the Sterling boys made the read worth it, they're so much intense that it's for sure we want each of them having their own HEA!! The Title of this book is perfectly choose because this story was almost more on the best friendship Rain has with the 5 Sterling boys than the romance with Dane, but it was a great story and It's worth the read!๐

Dane & Rain
I. AM. IN. LOVE. WITH. THE. STERLINGS. So, this book is about Dane and Rain (how cute that their names rhyme, right?). I loved reading about her and the Sterlings growing up together. I love the bond they all have as such a close knit group of friends and family. Rain is fierce and strong and has suffered through a lot of hardships and yet still finds the strength to keep going. She's incredible. Dane is a dream boat. He's charming, loyal and family orientated. He's just totally swoon worthy. Their story is complicated, but it was very interesting reading their journey and how they become a couple. I enjoyed reading the ups and downs and the developments between the two. Excellent read and another well deserved five stars!

A letter, a interfering brother, immature 18 year olds who actually needed the six years apart to do some growing up.
Ahh the letter, fancy pinning all your future hopes on a letter and then throwing a major hissy fit that lasts for six long years because pride (immaturity, and yes emotions all over the place after major surgery) stops someone from taking a chance with the one they love, and finding out whether they actually got the letter. I found Rain's narrow view point and inability to consider how someone else might feel (Tria) maddening at times. The story definitely improved towards the end of the book, but I must admit I liked Dane and Tria a lot more then the other Sterling boys who came across as rich, spoilt bullies. (Do guys really pout or sulk?!)
