Applied Tree Biology

For the most part a very good book and a must read for anyone interested in trees. Some of the expert sections where quit subjective and in my professional opinion downright "voodooish" . With that said, there is a lot of great information that is presented in a clear and concise manner that helps the ready understand the information easily.

Excellent book! This is a must read for any serious practicing Arborist. The book is technical but any ISA Certifide Arborist should be able to follow along. I guarantee you will learn things you had not known before! Book also does a great job of relating what you have just learned to the practical work you are doing in the field as an Arborist.

Book arrived promptly in great condition. Product is very well written with very helpful diagrams and pictures. For anyone hoping to learn more about tree biology, it’s definitely worth the money.

As an ethnobiologist who used to have a small commercial orchard, I found this book one of the most interesting I have ever read. It tells you everything about trees, with full details--statistics on how deep roots go, full list of trees with N-fixing bacteria associated, full discussion of the problem of saving rare insects and fungi that live only on very old trees (so you have to save the old trees), and every other relevant knowledge about tree growing. I reminisced about my orchard while reading about field capacity, N uptake, leaf litter, and so on, and learned an enormous amount that's been discovered since I turned to less serious tree-growing. This is a totally wonderful book!

The book to have if you are working or have a serious interest in trees. Nicely laid out. I teach tree science, this is my go to book and now is in my college library!
