Honeymoon in Vegas

This was when Nicholas Cage was at his finest. Hes absolutely freaking hilarious ( i think hes best when he portrays comedy)and although iam not in general a huge fan of Sarah Jessica Parker the dynamic between the two of them in this film is spot on and she does a great job interacting also with James Cahn who plays a slimy gambler that is trying to steal her away from Nicholas Cage. The film takes you all the way to Hawaii as well as Vegas, the topography is gorgeous and the people that they encounter that play the Hawaiian roles a absolutely hysterical.

fun movie

This is truly one of my favorite movies. It isn't some grand, dramatic film or anything, but doesn't try to be. It is about a couple (Parker and Cage) who go to Vegas to get married. Jack (Cage) is reluctant to get married, but agrees so he doesn't lose Betsy (Parker.) Tommy (James Caan) sees Betsy in the lobby and she looks exactly like his deceased wife. A poker game ensues and Jack ends up owing the gambler Tommy a large sum of money...so Betsy is the payment (since Jack has no choice.) And the Hawaii trip begins. I won't give away any more, but it is very fun. The small role by Pat Morita and ESPECIALLY Peter Boyle are not to be missed. And even non-Elvis fans will like the score full of Elvis songs sung by many artists. And...flying Elvises!!!! oh yeah! My son who only knew of Nicholas Cage from action movies is now a fan. (I have since introduced him to Raising Arizona , Valley Girl , and even Vampire's Kiss !) It is just a fun movie with lots of great performances. My family often finds ourselves quoting this movie...(e.g., "you're just so blithe about it" "yellow then red!") This is SOOOO worth the price!!

An older movie that holds up very well. Funny. Clever. Simple. Lighthearted. Just something fun to watch. Some funny moments. James Caan as a stereotypical (in a good way) Vegas mobster. Nice script. Good direction. Well shot.

I know it is an older movie, but the picture was substandard. A bit disappointed. I have owned this movie on DVD before and it was much clearer. It did arrive quickly and on time.

My favourite Nic Cage movie. A very entertaining romantic comedy. James Caan and Sarah Jessica Parker are engaging. Fantastic score. And look for a very funny performance by Pat Morita.

One of the all-time great Nicolas Cage comedies. Worth it just to see a gang of Elvis impersonators parachute en mass out of an aircraft over the Las Vegas strip. At night. With all the glittery little lights on their rhinestone costumes lit.

Arrived fast. Great movie if you're planning to go to Vegas.
