Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: Friends and Foes: Level 2 (Passport to Reading) Paperback – July 1, 2014

Out of the 3 books (this one, "Rocket and Groot Fight Back", and "Battle of Nowhere") I ordered for my 5 year old, this one is both of our favorite. It explains a little bit of background on each character (for example, it explains that Peter is originally from Earth and is taken by aliens). It also explains who works for who (ex. Ronan works for Thanos, Korath works for Ronan, etc.). It's a really great overview to read before watching the movie (which was AMAZING!), since explains in more detail who/what the characters are.

My 8 year old godson was wanting to learn more about GOTG before the movie came out so I bought him this book. A week later I took him to see a friend of mine who is big into the GOTG comics and he was quite impressed with my godson's knowledge on the matter. He told him that he learned it from this book!

My daughter is a huge guardians fan she loves this book...it talks more about the characters and tells their story...not really telling the story like the movie..but still a great buy if you have a little fan like i do!

My son loved getting and reading this book for Christmas.

Fit well with the movie. Son used it for a weekly reading assignment. He's 7, in second grade.

wasn't the book i was hoping for.

My 6 year old loves these books and has read it several times. So I always try to buy them when I can get a good deal.

Whether a direct from Amazon or not I'm impressed so far!

We promised my son who is now 5½ and in Y1 at school that once he'd read all of the Level 1 books out loud by himself we would buy him all of the Level 2 books. He doesn't turn 6 until July so is amongst the youngest in year 1 and although likes having stories read to him isn't quite as keen without motivation to read by himself. These have done the trick (as did the level 1 series). Think Y1 is spot on for this series of books as he's spent a year developing some basic phonics skills and I've listened to him read this book out and you can see the step up between level 1 and level 2. He's working hard at sounding out the words but some are more complex and the sentence structure develops further in these levels. There's more compound sentences in these and some separated by the use of the comma, so when you're reading out loud he hears a distinct difference in intonation and pace. There seem to be more two syllable words in these ones as well. They're great for any boys or girls interested in super heroes. I'm looking forward to him being able to read all of the level 2 books so we can buy the level 3.

Bought a whole load of these books for my son who loves reading but gets bored with the books his school provide. He really enjoys reading about his favourite superheroes in stories aimed at his age group. Highly recommended.

Great book! My 6 year old loves the film and this book is great for developing his reading skills further.
