Much superior to one I had 25 years ago. Nice weight helps take the jiggles out, so it is fairly forgiving of shaky hands. A rather stiff clear plastic cover sheet will be required to work out some of the skewing on an old photo album, but that can be managed. A lot of cropping in Photoshop follows the scan process in my case. That's to be expected. Haven't tried WiFi - in general that technology is not quite ready for prime time in my experience with various cameras and tablets. It's usually slow to connect and may not stay connected for long. Maybe this product is better. USB cable works fine, and you can always pop out the memory chip and put it in a desktop/laptop card reader. It arrived a day early and has an 8G microSD card not 4G. The Abbyy OCR software is awesome. Converts scans directly into Word, Excel or pdf. The Wand can be flipped around 180 degrees depending on how narrow your page's margin is and what your work surface is like. Maximum scan width is 8.25 inches which is fine for my book sizes.

I liked it but not enough to keep. Bought this to scan pages out of books, primarily a car manual so I didn't get my dirty hands on the real thing when working on my car. I tried scanning a bunch of pages but the design kept cutting parts off or smeared it so that I would have to rescan. It is a pain when you scan everything, then hook it to your computer, review and then have to figure out which pages you need to do again! The design of the wand and where it actually scans means you are constantly flipping it depending on which way you need to scan, and from what I remember it scans one way better than the other (just don't remember which way?). Returned for a refund.

Very good quality in both construction of unit and of scanned image. The screen is a little hard to read due to it's small size but once you are used to locations of the various icons it is easy to adjust. It comes with good quality batteries rather than the unknown brands that are furnished with most portable devices. A couple of the documents I scanned were over a hundred years old and the ink had faded to a point where they were very hard to read. The scanned images came out with much better contrast and are easier to read than the originals. I'm very satisfied with this unit.

The wand does work very well when doing simple scans on-the-go.It would not work for high quality scans where precision is important.Overall I would say it does what a hand held scanner is supposed to do and it does it well.Lack of a shut-off button is a problem.Do lots of practice scans; keep it straight and move scanner smoothly across document.Get rechargeable batteries. You will need them.

I bought this to help me scan pages of a book, but please don't purchase this is this is your goal. It's too thick for this and will wrinkly your scans as you are told to press on the machine. This is what happened to me. Also, scans are incomplete because the machine is not thin enough to respect the formatting of pages with the 1/2 inch white border around the page.

Holy cow, I have been missing out! This sure makes digitizing reciepts, papers, and cards go a lot faster. I didn't think the image quality would be satisfactory, but it t most definitely is. Go ahead and buy it! You won't regret it!

this is my second hand scanner it cost I/2 my original plus it came with a case and chip. I gave it a 4 star rating it could earn the fifth star by long life.

Nice packaged bundle. Very low depth of field, good on flat surface only. Good handy format easy to carry. Good write to SD card feature.
