Incredibly DURABLE, COMFORTABLE Mouse Pad
This is one Hell of a product from Belkin! I speak from experience because I just equipped my entire studio with these Gel Mouse Pads, that would be pads for two PC laptops with extended desktops, a MacBook Pro laptop (my wife's), my 24" 3Ghz iMac that is used almost exclusively for batch editing of photos, and my PC desktop that I am working on right now. So that makes 4 of them in service as of this week, with the one for my PC desktop being the original one I bought more than 2 years ago, and it's in perfect shape after constant use for all that time, a testament to the product's longevity, resilience, and ability to stay shaped properly for a long, long time! I don't know about the review of May 9 here at Amazon.com that boldly states that "Belkin cheapened the product, changed it in fact" etc etc, blatantly speaking to the quality and condition of the product the reviewer purchased at that time...in fact I will dispute that claim 100% right here and now because the products that I bought this week from Amazon.com are IDENTICAL to the product that I bought 2+ years ago, they have not cheapened anything at all, in fact I would say the OPPOSITE of that reviewer, as it is my contention that Belkin is making the product better than it ever has been made up to this time, perhaps even improving its construction and feature set since 2007 when I bought my 1st one. I just don't understand how/why people blatantly, boldly write things like that which are categorically FALSE and MISLEADING to the buying public, the market here at Amazon.com which is worldwide, huge, with readers from all walks of life throughout the world...in fact it sort of shocks and saddens me when I have to contend that what somebody wrote is NOT THE TRUTH AT ALL about a product, and I am in fact doing that right here and now! Do NOT BELIEVE that review, not a word of it! This fantastic gel mouse pad from Belkin is a wonderful, perfectly constructed, made product that remains the sole product of its type that one can purchase for LESS THAN $10 here (retail being $15 or so) at Amazon.com, and I wholeheartedly give it Wavey Davey's 5-Star Vote of Confidence Award, so do not be afraid of it in the least! You can buy it here knowing full well and good that the product is incredibly well made, will last many years even in severe and constant service/use, and I am writing this right now to tell anybody in the market for such an item that THIS IS THE ONE TO BUY! I don't know where or what shape my wrist would be in without having mine in my studio to support it properly, but it surely would be in worse shape than it is right now! This thing works, and works 100% to the good for your wrist and hand's health and longevity, and it's quite simply the best thing that is available for wrist/hand support when you are toiling long, and hard at computing for pleasure or work, whatever, you know? It just works, and works WELL! FANTASTC in fact! Do not believe any claims to the contrary about how it's being made and constructed because this is the one that you should be getting if you are concerned about something lasting a long time and providing long-term use without any issues at all: this is IT folks, so believe me when I write this little review that you don't have to worry about it in the least, it's a solidly made product, with lasting attributes that will work just as good next year, and the year after, perhaps, no matter how many hours a day you use it! There, I've written what I wanted to write about it, so there's no use in making this longer or more candid than I have this time around, you just take it from Wavey Davey, your faithful Amazon.com reviewer of this great gel mouse pad, that things are on the up and up with it, it's the best thing you could possibly do for your wrist and hand, so go ahead and punch the button, hit the spot, and order it because you will NOT be disappointed, not in the least!! This is a good, quality, simple mouse pad with a comfortable wrist rest.
I am replacing my previous mouse pad also a Belkin one same style: black with gel wrist rest. I have had it for over 10 years and the only reason why I replaced it was because they get dirty and nasty and are really hard to clean without ruining it. So I finally decided to just replace it with the same thing. I think I've had it and used it long enough. Under normal use, in a clean office environment this mouse pad will last for a long time. I have not had any other mouse pad. From top to bottom it's about 10 inches and the width at the widest which is at the top is about 8 inches. It fits on the side of my keyboard on my slide out keyboard shelf. Some users comment on the smell. It smells like rubber. It is not that strong at all. When you first take it out of the package it smells strong, and I'm sure if you take it and wave it around the air you will smell it. With it just sitting on your desk it does not smell at all after the first day. It also does not harm my desk surface or leave any marks. It is desk friendly! (It sure better be) I've also smelled my wrist and my wrist had a smell on it the first couple of days. (Think... when you buy new sneakers and your feet smell like new sneaker smell?) After that no smell, it's fine. The wrist rest is not as soft as lets say a keyboard wrist rest (which I also have, and also reviewed, and is also a Belkin). It is not too firm either where it will hurt your wrist. I imagine over time it will soften up a little. It is very comfortable to me. I also like the new logo. The previous Belkin mouse pad I had was a white Belkin logo (which is the one pictured). On the newer versions the logo is more of a contrast dark gray which isn't as visible, but visible enough where you notice it is there and the white no longer catches my eye. This is a good, quality, simple mouse pad with a comfortable wrist rest. If you are a gamer, I would not recommend this. You should get the gaming mouse pads as they are a smoother surface. Also if you are a gamer you would probably have a gaming mouse and keyboard, which I do not. I also thought my mouse was slower when I first starting using the new mouse pad. I have not touched any settings and it seems just the same now. So maybe it was just a trick of the mind. I'm happy, hopefully you are too!!

Wears out pretty fast but has been pretty comfy
Purchased this back in March 2021 when I needed something to support my wrist as I had tendonitis throughout my right arm from typing and gaming. Was pretty great, helped offer support and I use my PC a lot since I work from home and do contract work on the side. That said, keep in mind it's smaller than you think so you may have to set your mouse on its fastest setting to play FPS games (I myself just went without the pad since it snagged a lot due to being smaller than you'd think). It also only lasted about 3 years before it completely wore down. For $10, that's not so bad. I use an MX510 and M705 so it can be annoying when gaming or working. Overall, I was satisfied for the price. Wish it lasted longer tho.

Best mousepad I've ever used!
I've been using versions of this mousepad for over ten years now and at this point I'll never use any other one again. I've tried numerous other mousepads with wrist rests over the years but they all have some problem or another (shape that doesn't work as well, uncomfortable or too short wrist rest, wrist rest that feels weird and crunchy, etc). Not this one. It's comfortable even after years of constant daily use, shapes to your wrist gradually over time but doesn't lose support, and is gel and not whatever the crunchy stuff is that other mousepads use. I ended up buying another of these for the office as well several years ago. No issues with slipping or any damage to the mousepad even after years of heavy use. It's amazing how well this thing holds up. The smoothness of the surface eventually starts to get worn after long term use, but it's still perfectly usable and causes no functional problems at all.

Excellent - worth the $$ if you care about your wrists
Simple mouse pad and wrist rest. I work IT so I'm on a computer for at least 40 hours a week. I'm also a pianist and guitarist without CTS. I'd like to think this product has played a part in saving my wrists for the last 15-20 years. I only wish they still made the same keyboard rests. These typically last me about 5 years before the center of the mousepad is almost completely worn through to the foam underneath and the fabric starts to detach from the wrist rest and mouse pad and they start to become unusable. Yes, I drive these into the ground and they take it! High quality product. On a side note, I ordered a couple of these and the last batch had one where the fabric wasn't attached correctly and was peeling off. I think that was a one-off. The item was replaced and no issues with the replacement.

My Go-To Gel Mouse Pad
I tried to break up with this mouse pad a few times. I can't. It's too comfortable. So while my wife does not use any mouse pad or wrist rest for whatever weird reason -- I have found I can't live without it. I even tried buying one of these for my wife and she turned it down. I don't get it. I hate the sound of a mouse slapping on a hard surface, yet she wants to use a mouse without any mouse pad. But then again, she uses a clicky keyboard, despite otherwise needing complete silence while she works instead of listening to music like me. I guess she likes "the sound of working" with all those clicks and slapping of the mouse on the desk. I like my keyboards and mice quiet, and listen to music when working. Different strokes for different folks. I have replaced this mouse pad I think about 4x over the years. I probably get 3 years or so out of it each time before I retire it for a new one. It's not that it completely wears out or anything, but the wrist part can have an odor after all those hours of your wrist resting there and there's only so much you can do with cleaning it. Plus after that amount of years, it does look more worn-in. For the price, 3-4 years is quite a while and dirt cheap for better comfort if you like a wrist rest. It's a nice shape design too in both style and also in how it fits in-between things versus if it was a full rectangle design. As long as they don't stop producing this mouse pad, I'll keep buying it when I need a replacement!

This is a decent, inexpensive wrist rest
I think this is a perfectly average wrist rest. Not too squishy or too firm. Keeps my wrists off the hard desk which is what I wanted it to do. It's pretty thin, so it doesn't sit up above the level of the front edge of my keyboard (which is the standard Dell keyboard with number pad). It also is almost exactly the same length of my keyboard. The edges where the bottom & top material are glued together (which is about 1/4" thick) is the only part wider than my keyboard. The front edge has a sort of wave shape with the back edge straight across. The front is widest at each end, scalloping inwards about 1/2" right where the "enter" key on my keyboard is (maybe 2/3 the way across the front from the left). The "top" (edge closest to the keyboard) is slightly higher than the "front" (edge closed to you) and it feels like there is a subtle swell in the middle. So across the top surface it's sloped slightly with a divot where my palms seem to hit. Typing on it feels pretty comfortable. The top is covered in a black, semi-shiny fabric; the bottom of the rest is a rubbery material and so far hasn't slipped on my desk at all. In fact it's very grippy; I can't make it slide on my desk if I'm putting pressure from the top. It doesn't seem extremely durable, but so far has worked just fine for it's intended purpose. I can't imagine this not lasting for quite a while with normal daily use, but moving it around a lot of picking it up off the desk a lot might cause the bottom material to separate from the fabric & gel.

Comfortable
I have to say this mouse pad has far exceeded anything I hoped for. When I first opened the box it was shipped in I was very put off. There was a Very, Very strong chemical smell. I chalked it up to something in the packaging material. It turns out that was not where the smell was coming from. It was the mouse pad itself. Having worked in a shoe factory years ago I was able to identify the smell as an industrial glue. The smell hung around for a couple of days. Now, 1 week after having received my purchase if I put my nose close to the pad, it still carries the faint smell of industrial glue. I would caution those with allergies and/or asthma to consider this prior to purchase. As an asthmatic I can say it did affect my breathing some what. That seems to have gotten better as the smell has lessened. I have finished with my public health warning. On to the mouse pad. It is simply the best mouse pad I have ever used. I have had wrist problems for over 4 years now. I have had swelling and pain from my right pinkie finger to my elbow as a result of console gaming and lots of keyboarding work. In the past week my swelling has greatly reduced. My pain is almost gone. My wrist sits perfectly on the wrist rest. The pad actually cradles my wrist. The wrist rest moves with my hand, so well and with so much support, it seems to be an extension of my body. A new improved appendage. I have found myself resting my wrist on the pad even while not computing but just sitting at my desk. It truly is that comfortable. I already have plans to purchase two more for friends as Christmas gifts. Worth Every Cent! Go For It! You Will Not Be Disappointed!

Excellent mousemat
It's often forgotten that the mat you use for mousing is probably one of the most important cheap peripherals you can buy, if you spend, like me, several hours a day with your right (or left) hand resting on a hard surface. Pros: I've had several gel wrist-support mousemats over the years, but this is undoubtedly the best. Somebody has clearly sat down & actually thought about how people use mousemats in reality, & designed this thing appropriately. The gel wrist support is about 7 inches wide & contoured so that one's wrist falls naturally into the contoured hollow in the middle yet can still move around left to right without falling off the rest. The gel is not too hard yet not too soft, & infinitely better than the memory foam wrist rest my last mousemat had. The upper area of the mat splays out towards the top of its 7 inch length, to a width of 8 inches, so extravagant left/right movements of the mouse don't result in the mouse falling off, as can be seen from the image. The base surface sticks like glue to one's IKEA desk, also, so it doesn't move about. At all. A supremely well designed & comfortable mat/wrist support. I love it. I've also tried it in gaming scenarios, & the wide top bit definitely helps in some of the more frenetic gaming action. It also looks very nice, & the surface is silky smooth & my new Logitech 510 mouse likes it too. Con: well, the packaging. It's blister-packed in one of those impenetrable hard plastic packs you have to take a chainsaw to, to actually get to the product inside, but I guess I can live with that.

Good Idea for Arthritis sufferers
I have quite painful arthritis in my fingers, neck and back. To use a conventional keyboard without this support was uncomfortable in the extreme. I have recently had my leg amputated and am spending vast amounts of time on the computer. This aid is wonderful; I don't get the aches and pains I used to suffer from periods on the keyboard. I would recommend this for anyone whether arthritis sufferers or not.
