I have 11 of these in the house and it works great. It only does basic applications on my ac; mode, fan speed, and temperature but you don't really need more than that. The angle of the IR blaster is very good and I am able to have the unit pointed in any direction and it still works. That is because of multiple IR blasters (see pic). So mounting this in a convenient spot is very easy. As long as you have it mounted in a good spot I have not had any misses on IR misses on the AC.The app, TuyaSmart works very well with all the units. Setup is quick and easy, create an account if you don't have one and then reset the device (they provide the paper clip type sim remove for easy reset), provide wifi password, select you device and you are done. Adding extra devices just requires the reset and selecting the device you are adding. You can setup actions and scenarios or do basic control of each unit in the house. I have not tried out any of the Alexa/Google integration but that is entirely on the app side.

I got a echo dot and thought it would be cool to use it to mute my TV during all the annoying TV commercials (I hate them) but my Samsung "Smart"TV didn't support that... For 16 $ I can now say "Alexa mute my TV" and she says OK and mutes it lol.. Set up was a breeze and I love it That should be a selling point, "Mute all them dam TV adds!"

I have a portable LG air conditioner. I tried all 14 options but did not work at all. Also, it did not even custom learn the infrared signals.

This device, as an IR blaster, is a very economical way to control appliances like your older TV that doesn't respond to Alexa commands. The reason is simple. Most of these older devices do accept infrared commands, and this device accepts commands from Alexa. Therefore, this device is taught the IR signals from your old remotes, and Alexa is taught to issue the commands to the IR blaster. Now there is no limit to your ability to command your older appliances strictly by voice and you can stop hunting for your collection of old remotes. And it transmits 360 degrees, so placement is not critical.

Works well for what I wanted , I am impressed with its compatibility and control over my devices. Still some function I'm figuring out but it took my tv and was able to make it a smart tv with minimal effort. I'm in the process of setting up a few other functions for it , like control over my home theater and other components in my home I have no doubt that the ir remote with be able to connect my home to Alexa.

This is a great ir blaster. Its super thin and very responsive. Had another model and it's worked well but was not as compact. Works with Google Assistant for basic functions, on/off. But since I don't use Alexa it doesn't work for volume or channel changing on my tv. This is same with all ir blasters.

Product works as described for my LG TV. For lesser known brands like Vizio, it took a lot of trial and error before I was able to set up a Vizio soundbar just for the on and off feature. Now I can Alexa control power on and off for both my tv and soundbar which are mismatching brands. The app and instructions are somewhat poorly translated so it is pretty much trial and error for setup.

This sucks with working with Alexa. Half the time it never works or Alexa will say it's not responding. This was a waste of money. And the setup it too confusing. I don't see how to add the majority of my Comcast set box remote buttons. This is useless.
