Best all around grinder
The Cuisinart line of kitchen products have never let me gown. The Mini-Mate grinder I've owned for at least 20 years now and still is going strong. But since I bought it in the US and now live in the UK, I decided to buy a grinder here eliminating the voltage converter I had to use. Well this Spice & Nut Grinder has so far has proven to be as good as the original Mini-Mate. I put it through some torture in the week I've had it. I grow my herbs all summer to harvest and put away for winter. For several days I have been grinding basil, oregano, tarragon, coriander, cilantro, marjoram, etc. Rosemary ground down slightly so it is more friendly in food instead of twigs. Gave it a go around with whole cloves. Cardamom had its turn. While none of this spice grinders have a large capacity - which is good as you are able to control the degree to which you want things ground down [you don't want to powder everything] - it is fast so capacity is not a problem. Unlike the Mini-Mate where the top can't be cleaned efficiently because it is the motor, this Spice & Nut Grinder has the motor in the base, so everything that comes in contact with the food can be efficiently cleaned. It is also easy to operate by just pushing the lid down - which requires very little pressure. The unit will not operate if everything is not correctly locked in. For those that complain about a motor burnout, this is a small unit designed to grind as needed. It is not commercial grade, and not meant to be run consistently non-stop. Used mine for about an hour with no problem. Also, taking the lid off as soon you finishing grinding will create a suction as the items are turned inside as they are grinding. Lifting that lid before they settle [about a second] will have some things flying out. This is a kitchen must. Having read other reviews - I will update mine as time goes on to see if the complains are an inherent problem with this model.

Fantastic grinder, excellent value
We’ve had these grinders for a few years. This is the second one to replace our old one that gave up! We use it several times a day so it’s constantly being used. Perfect for grinding spices, wet and dry. Great value, easy to use.

A good grinder, powerful and compact.
I have used this to grind dry spices, to puree ginger and garlic, to chop chillies and herbs and make salsa. It does a really great job generally. If I have one criticism it is that you cant put soft and wet items in such as salsa ingredients more than halfway full as it tends to leak juices down the outside of the container between lid and base however if you want to grind dry ingredients it is great.I bought extras as gifts so that says it all I think.

Do not waste your money!
Absolutely disappointed! Stopped working in the first 10 seconds! Twice more expensive than other products and very low quality!

From whole to ground in 5 seconds
I had previously used a hand-grinder which would take at least 20 minutes to grind the spices required for a basic Indian dish. I bought this grinder with the Amazon voucher given by my company to compensate for the cancellation of the company’s Christmas party due to Covid concerns. It is an amazing machine. Because it can be operated solely by holding down the lid, there is no risk at all of trapping fingers in the blades.I recently ground 5 tablespoons of whole spices (coriander seed, fennel seed, cumin seed, whole peppercorns, a half-nutmeg, several dried chillies and cloves) in just 5 seconds. There are two grinder cups, which means that it can also be used for coffee or that there is a spare which is dry for further use if the other cup had been used and washed. It is neat and solid and is easily stowed away. As far as these things go, it is also attractive to look at.I shall be recommending it to friends and relatives and shall probably buy a few as presents.

Streets ahead of my last spice grinder
Bought this spice grinder after my last one died (killed by grinding cinnamon sticks). This Cuisinart unit grinds hard cinnamon effortlessly. Also good for nuts, almond, walnuts, hazelnuts etc. You have to judge the grinding time correctly with certain nuts, or it go's from powder to butter. Easy enough to adjust quantity ground, and time, to stop this happening, unless you specifically want nut butter. 2 pots are supplied with storage lids. Pots clean very easily as they are stainless steel. One speed only, activated by hand depression of plastic cover over the pot. Do not know how long this unit will last yet, has been good so far. Better than the last unit I had. Would recommend.

Compact, versatile & powerful processor
It’s solid built of stainless steel, and a mini size but a powerful machine. It’s excellent for the items listed in its description but also for blitzing fruit or mushrooms or vegetables. I don’t use it for coffee beans but if it does those it should also crush pills, though I haven’t tried this. I used it first time to blitz cooked and cooled shiitake mushrooms and the result was very impressive. Shiitake can’t be crushed in a motar and pestle like this.
