Hultafors 840086 H 009 SV Hatchet - Made in Hults Bruk, Sweden

This axe is big enough and small enough to do most tasks. It will cut big stuff and little stuff, but I wouldn't recommend going after 2 meter thick hardwoods. It's handy enough to throw in a vehicle (or big back pack), and I can use it with either one or two hands to chop stuff. It can make feather sticks, split (not huge) kindling, and carve flat edges on poles to make your tree houses. It has that lovely Swedish steel axe mystique that makes my American, Chinese and Italian axes jealous. I got it on sale pretty cheap on Amazon, so I'm not scared to actually use it, and/or modify it to my liking. It's a beautiful axe, and worth picking up for less than $80.

Great axe! Did not get 5 stars because the sheath was junk, and the cutting edge needed reshaping. Otherwise great axe. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a good axe they can pack. Get a good leather sheath made though!
