Transport Plus EV Rider

Sports car for semi-invalids
I wanted a very small foldable machine, with space under the seat for mail, small packages, or food from our senior retirement center.Thinking about a future where I might need this indoors, I gave up a much larger scooter(9 mph)for this little machine, compact enough to stay seated while unlocking the front door, and closing it behind me. This is strictly a sidewalk machine, no springing so hard riding over bumps.I do wi sh all these machines had a built in charger!

Don't know. We cancelled the order before we received it. Will reorder after we get a prescription for it so insurance will pay for it.

I love my EV Rider
This is a very under-rated, under appreciated machine. There are a lot of things I could suggest, but for what it is it's nearly perfect. When I first went looking for a scooter one of the things that distressed me was that the weight of the average machine was about 110 pounds. That meant it was too great to consider getting it and out of the car by myself. The EV Rider with the litium battery (don't even consider the SLA battery. It might be cheaper but it's going to be a real pain in the long run) weighs a modest 64 pounds. It's a bit much for me to lift alone, but I can roll the folded scooter up to my little car, tip the front wheels in and push the rest behind. My husband juggles it with no problems at all despite his bad back. I have a much lighter scooter, but it's nowhere near as convenient to drive and lacks the EV's safety features such as its tiny balancing wheels that prevent you from tipping over and its ability to go up and down inclines without rolling backward.Sales people in the mobility business warmed me that folding scooters have a very short lifespan and that they are very fragile and can't take any rough handling. I bought my EV in 2013 and it's still going strong. It's been on airplanes, ships, over ground and through mud and just keeps ticking along. I am careful not to get the controls wet, but take few other precautions. The poor thing's battered and scratched exterior shows that the airline people in particular showed it very little respect. And it keeps going. With the lithium battery I have gotten 12-14 miles range from it. It might go further, but I never let the power meter go below the middle of the yellow margin. The SLA (lead/acid) battery is a waste of your time and money. Even though it's about half the price, it will not be allowed on airplanes and it will have a shorter driving rage because lead/acid just does't hold as strong a charge. Spend the money. Get the litium/Ion. It snaps in easily, weighs 4 pounds, locks securely in place and charges easily and quickly. It goes on planes with no argument from the airport personnel. The advised weight for the EV is 250 pounds. That's the ADVISED weight. I'm a large lady and I weigh more than that. I took the EV to Maine in February 2014. The 4 degree temperature did not bother it. Neither did my weight, my heavy full length winter coat's weight AND the weight of my toiletries bag. Together we probably tipped the scales at 275 or better. The EV didn't seem to care. It never even slowed down.As for speed, the EV has two markers on its speed control, pictured as a tortois and a hare. Since the knob turns a good ways past the hare and the rider speeds up accordingly there should be a third drawing of a bat. I leave you to figure out why. Suffice to say that while I'm unlikely to win any races with it, it's advertised 4MPH translates as the speed of a steady jog. It feels a lot faster. What could improve The EV? Well, a basket carrier would be nice. I found one in a bike store and with some degree of difficulty modified it to work for me. I also bought a back pack and modified it to go over the handlebars to carry my cane, purse and odd accessories. A horn that didn't sound like the peeping of a baby bird to warn people that you want to get trhough would be great. I generally just advise folks verbally that THEY are the only ones who will care if I run them over. Generally, they laugh and move. I dearly wish it had a cup holder for water or coffee. The seat could be wider, more ergonomic, and perhaps be better padded. I stuck a cushon on it. None of these things will pose a problem for the buyer since they can all be solved with a little imagination.I love mine.

Great little scooter
The scooter came very quickly in new condition. it is as easy as shown in youtube videos to open, close, charge and use.the only flaw so far it that it sometimes does not stop. as warned in the manual, just turn it off and it will stop. this scares me some for my 91 year old mother that uses it. we received a copper colored one, and it is beautiful.

but better than I had thought
A fabulous scooter for transporting and riding around in small spaces. It likes to be ridden inside. Very low ground clearance, but better than I had thought. The throttle levers will catch on your clothing and take you for a "thrill" ride if you do any body shifting without turning it off first.

Love the TranSport
Love the TranSport...super stable scooter, and very compact. Love the fact that I can rest my arms on the free armrests I got with the scooter. Will recommend.

So far,so good
We have only used this scooter once in the 2 two weeks since it has arrived. That performance was very satisfactory.
