So happy to find online!
I’ve been using this product for years to cover white around my ears and forehead, and it works great for me. Those are the only areas that my white is noticeable and I use every 3-4 weeks. I also use on my eyebrows to darken them, but I don’t leave on as long my hair. I have never dyed all my hair, suppose I’ll need to start one of these days. I can no longer find 6R in the retail stores, so was extremely happy to find online and the price is around the same. I ended up buying 2 packs of 2 since it is not always in stock online and the price fluctuates. I only mix up what I need and don’t have much white, so one box lasts me several applications.

Good match for 6R/Light Auburn Shades, but has more brown, so roots look really natural.
I love this stuff. My natural hair is dark brown with some grays, but the "baby hairs" on my neck and forehead are very light. I dye my hair with "Light Auburn" (Loreal 6R shades), and about 6 weeks later need to re-dye (you can see the brown roots as a distinct line against the red). I used to use the 6R hair color to touch-up (following the "touch-up directions") but it leaves my hair all the exact same color (the hallmark of home-dying...). If, instead, I use the root touch-up, the effect is different: the root touch-up is just a tad browner than the dye, so at 6-8 weeks after a full dye, when I use the Root Touch Up 6R, rather than just more of the hair dye, my hair looks awesome--very natural (just slightly darker at the roots than the ends). Then, when it grows in, I do NOT have the distinct brown/red line...I can go 6+ weeks without re-dying, or until the grays drive me nuts. I can go almost 3-4 months without doing a full re-dye, but then I CAN (because by then my ends need a boost of red) do a full re-dye without saturating my hair. I have pretty generically brown hair with natural red highlights, pale skin and blue eyes, and have died my hair "Light Auburn" (Loreal 6R shades) for so long everyone thinks I have red hair. Anytime I have tried using any red hair color that mentions brown, such as Loreal's "6AB Chic Auburn Brown" or "6RB Light Reddish Brown", the brown deposited so heavily that it really looked fake (the brown will dye the light baby hairs on my neck and forehead, and it looks weird). I find that 6R (no B!) leaves the fine hairs that grown in around my face a light color, not dark, and it looks so much more natural. So I was skeptical about using a root touch-up that mentioned a brown in the name, but because the root touch up is labeled 6R (no B!), I gave it a try. While the root touch up seems darker than the regular hair dye, it does NOT dye the light hairs a dark brown. Yey! When I use the Clairol Root Touch-Up Permanent Hair Color Creme, 6R Light Auburn Brown, on my roots, paired with Loreal's 6R Light Auburn (Excellence or Preference...doesn't matter) on my hair, I get a professional-looking, natural look that, when it grows out, does NOT show a line. It may just be my imagination, but the 6R root touch-up is just a hair darker than the 6R hair color, so it is the perfect in-between.

Not the same as the 5R hair dye by the same brand
I have been using the clairol 5R regular hair dye kit for a while and wanted to try this root touch up 5R since it is a smaller amount of product just to touch up my roots opposed to my entire head. This is NOT the same color… my roots are way darker than the rest of my hair now and not even remotely close to the color of the other hair dye. The other 5R is a copper red, this is a dark red.. now I have to try and figure out how to lighten my roots to match the rest of my hair, which I doubt I’ll have luck with.

Covers grey good
I tried this as a touch up between coloring. I didn't care much for how it worked but then it was the first time I used it so maybe I didn't do it quite right. I may try it again some time.

Nice and easy
Product quite good and easy to use, but not quite enough to cover all roots - could be more generous amount and doesn't last more than 2/3 washes/
