I learn Civil 3D in practical reason, to help my civil engineer build my house.I know this book is not so fancy, but it said everything directly to the point.I am afraid of book you know all the words, but it just swamps you in the word ocean and you don’t get anything.Just a waste of time and energy to read it.This book is very precise. If it can use 10 words to express the meaning, won’t use 11.I emailed the author serval Civil 3D questions and he was quick to answer my questions.I don’t need to ask for extra help from other persons about Civil 3D.As a Civil 3D new learner, this is the book you must have

good training, but hard to follow without actual software not at work. Settings at work throw me off a bit, but not reflective of material but more of me understanding what needs to be for different outcomes.

I am beginning my journey as a CAD Tech and I wanted an easy to understand book on how to use AutoCAD software. This book has step-by-step skills that you can master easily. I know that this book will help me in my career.

This book can be better called a draft, as indicated by its poor quality of figures. English writing skills not that good, sometimes due to the poor description of CAD steps, readers can have a hard time to follow.

I bought this book skeptically and didn’t expect to be able to grasp Civil3D so quickly. But the book does deliver what it says! What is pleasant surprise. The book layouts the topics in a very logic way – from basics, to points, alignments, surface and to more complicated topics. The steps in the chapters are easy enough to follow. What I like about the book is the author highlights some necessary skills in each chapter for example, how to create points, how to change the alignment radius etc., then he also explains their steps in details. The book has a lot of figures/screen shots from civil3D. I would think this book is particularity good for the beginners or someone who doesn’t have much prior knowledge. I also found learning from this book saved me more time than learning from some online videos. Because you can learn by doing (follow the steps on the book) rather than watching videos and forgot what was said in the beginning of the video already. A bonus of this book is the author is very approachable and he provides templates and takes your suggestions seriously. This book will teach you to command Civil3D in a fast-moving way. I highly recommend this book.

This book is so comprehensive and easy to follow. It's as if the author was right next to you giving you exact instructions. I have 30 years Engineering and CAD experience and 0 years Civil 3D. This book has helped me grasp the knowledge of Civil 3D in a way I hadn't been able to get anywhere else... let alone from a book. And trust me, I bought the 1,000 page tutorials on Civil 3D and my head just swam with confusion as I attempted to use it to learn. This is a must buy for anyone wanting to learn quickly and concisely.
