Must have for E Med PAs or docs

I’m a PA student and this really really helped during my rotation. It gives you good concise explanations and science based ways to risk stratify. I will definitely keep this for work after graduation.

Perfect for PA students on rotations & quick refresher for healthcare professionals.

I used this pocket EM pocket book during my EM rotation in PA school. Everything is written in outline format and does not go in depth about a disease pathology. It is meant to be a quick refresher. This book has most diseases that you will encounter in your everyday Emmergency room. This book does a great job of categorizing diseases by organ system and allows you to find diseases easier. It also has helped me answer questions that my preceptor “pimped” me on.

Quick reference with pertinent material

Good and quick reference

Handy and quick reference. Pretty succinct in the sections described. A little light on pathophysiology, but certainly adequate for a pocket book.

Good Quick Reference

Good quick reference when on rotations. Three-ring binding makes it easy to quickly flip between pages. Size fits in pockets of coat or scrubs well.

Overall decent pocket guide covering bread and butter emergency medicine

I have the Kindle version. I can open that in my android phone and my ipad at the same time. Very practicalRegarding the content, it covers all the bread and butter of EM.It is not meant to be comprehensive.Should be OK for up to a junior resident level or anyone who wants to have a quick reference. Does not contain many of the more advanced, or extremely recent notions.Certain important concepts are simply quickly mentioned without any additional information.e.g. regarding airways, there is no mention of DSI, and only mentions extraglottic devices, crash intubation, failed airway without any additional information.(I do understand that as an EM specialist, you should know these by heart)Overall pretty decent and practical resource for students and junior residents.Edit:- units are American- some concepts are a bit oversimplified. e.g. they mention O2 and IV fluids for certain Sickle Cell emergencies without actually writing when it is indicated. I do understand that it's a pocket book, but I still feel like certain things are a bit oversimplified.
