Alessi Blip PG02 - Spoon Rest in 18/10 Stainless Steel Mirror Polished

This is a work of art, as to be expected with Alessi and why we purchase Alessi. It's gorgeous. Luckily for me, I got it for a steal on a warehouse deal because someone missed the point. (If you want a $6 behemoth, monster holder that can catch every spill, get a KitchenPro "boat" at CostCo. This is not that. This is for Alessi loyalist nerds who desire a beautiful work of art and design that happens to double as a spoon holder.) Yes, it is smaller and somewhat daintier than the average spoon holder, but it still lovingly, perfectly cradles all my cooking utensils while making me appear much classier than I am. I keep it on the divider in the center of my stove, a little pop of elegant, whimsical design on the kitchen island where it can appreciated by the masses. Initially after reading reviews, I tried using it as a spoon holder for my coffee. But that covered it with drips, sullying its sparkling luster and buried it next to a machine in the shadows, like just another spoon holder. But this is Alessi and like all art, it is meant to be seen and enjoyed. Art is unexpected, not homogenous or predictable, and it shouldn't be like the rest--or it wouldn't be Alessi! The fact that it's also practical is Alessi's trademark bonus icing on the design-nerd cake. (I'd say it's too small to give as a gift alone, but would be lovely in a coffee/tea basket, or with the Alessi heart teaspoons.) If you love Alessi, you'll delight in it and adore it and find a purpose for it. Even if that's just staring admiringly at it on your counter, for beauty's sake.

It’s a unique in design spoon rest. I already have and love it! I sent it as a gift to my niece and she loved it so much that she uses it as an ornament in her living room when she is not cooking!!! On top of its beauty it’s also very practical!

I own two of these. I keep one by the coffee area next to the french press and the Keurig. For coffee spoons, the size is more than adequate and the styling is more in line with the area than the standard (and slightly obscene looking) double spoon rest. I did purchase a second Blip for the cook top area. Other reviewers have commented on size. I'll say fair enough due to the product measuring smaller than the listed dimensions. Product specs detail 6" x 3.5 " x 1.25", however, by my measurements it's more like 5" x 3". My largest cooking spoons are a bit large for the Blip, (for those I use 2 Evriholder Silicone Pot Clips Ladle Or Spoon Holder Rest For Stove Cooking ). But it works just fine for me at least 90% of time. - Hand wash only. I can achieve the same thing with a small $2 ceramic saucer, but that's obviously not what I wanted in my kitchen.

Looks great. A little small for wooden spoons but it works just fine. I suppose you don't want a larger size if you are interested in this design.... We handwash it to preserve the finish.

I have had this on my stove for decades and love it. I bought one for my daughter for Christmas . Sturdy, attractive and functional

Stunning and comfortable

This is gorgeous just like every other Alessi item I have ever bought or seen, and it would be so easy to take care of it because it is literally a sheet of stainless steel that has been shaped into a stunning, semi-functional tool. It came well packaged. It appears to be the genuine thing. I have two questions. Number one. What size spoons do people in Europe use? Because this is not going to hold most spoons that I have to cook with. Actually, that's not true. It would hold the head of most spoons, but then you would need to set this on top of something else if you actually wanted to achieve your goal of not getting the counter dirty, because all this is going to hold is the head of the spoon. It will not hold ANY portion of the handle. Literally no part of the handle. My second question is what tape measure are they using. Because the measurements on the box are 6" x 3 1/2" x H 1 1/4". The actual measurements are 4.5" x 3.5" x H 1 1/4". In case anyone is wondering why there isn't length times width, I am guessing it is because on this particular item that doesn't matter. It is up to you, depending on what orientation you have it in. I have no problem with that. But I am really baffled at why it would say 6 inches versus the actual 4.5 inches. That's a big difference. And as gorgeous as it is, it's going back. I bought this thinking it would actually function and solve the issue of setting a spoon on the counter and then having to clean the counter. All this will do is make what I need to clean up smaller.

Beautiful small spoon holder made of stainless steel to give a nice design touch in your kitchen. Alessi never disappoint in terms of quality and design. It is absolutely beautiful. However, it would not be the perfect solution if I had big spoons as the size is pretty tiny. You could even use it for candies at this point.

Es muy bonito. Es tal y como se describe. Es muy funcional. Permite dejar los cubiertos de cocina con facilidad, y tiene un tamaño suficiente como para ser usado con mucha comodidad. Lo volvería a comprar.
