Joseph's Studio by Roman, 6.5" H The Washing of The Feet Figurine

My table is never without a centerpiece - a Joseph's Studio religious figurine. I have many because they are all very beautiful, detailed, portray the muted colors of the historical era, the figures' faces and expressions are unbelievably real: so much so that one can tell what they are feeling in their hearts from their expressions. This is one of my favorites and it takes center stage on my table from Ash Wednesday through Holy Thursday at which time I switch to Jesus being comforted in the Garden by an angel which is then followed by crucifixion and resurrection figures respectively.My family has a tradition with this particular piece that was started by a younger member of the family quite by accident. Each time a family member looks at this figurine, we are reminded of many of Jesus' teachings for life without one word being uttered. No music, no sermons, no readings and no distractions. And each time Jesus sends one of us a new inspiration for keeping our lives on track and praising His goodness, we write that grace from God on the base of the statue without telling anyone. Then, when another family member lifts the statue to read what has been written on the base, there are more life's lessons shared. To date, this figurine has reminded my family of friendship, loyalty, kindness, consideration, humility, gratitude, servitude, compassion, understanding, forgiveness, thankfulness, gentleness, caring, tenderness of heart and deep love. Each year on Ash Wednesday when I take this figurine from the box and I re-read the values my family has learned from seeing it and thinking about it, I am so very touched I cry.There are no pretenses with this piece. It is shorter than most of Joseph's Studio statues at 6.5" to the top of St John's head and approx. 7" wide. However, the gentleness and tenderness depicted in just the manner Jesus holds John's foot over the bowl of water, the water droplets shown actually splashing in the center of the bowl so that the water is not just a flat blue surface but has movement (rings and splashes up from the surface), and John's extended left arm toward Jesus with his hand open as if to place it on Jesus' sleeve to stop Him from performing this ritual is enough to warm my heart for the entire day. Each time I gaze at this for longer than a few seconds it calms my soul.If you're considering this purchase, I believe you will love it as much as we do.

it's beautiful , the colors are calm goes with each other ,very well sculpted, when looking at it it feels like it's so realit makes u feel so humble, that's how Jesus is .it's a powerful sculpture.

Solid piece. I didn’t like the green garment Jesus was wearing though. Wish it was white or tan like some of the pics show.

If I could adequately describe how stunning this piece is through words, I would. However, words cannot do it justice. It’s a work of art and is absolutely stunning. It’s just a shame I found out about this company now and not before. I’m extremely pleased with my purchase and I know many people will ask me where I got it from.

I used the statue to read through John 13 where Jesus washed the feet of the Apostles.

This is my second purchase from Josephs studio. Quality is superb. It depicts an important moment in the life story of our Savior. He illustrates the humility of a servants heart. I have a shelf in my living room that is a Christ's life timeline from birth to resurrection. This one sits just past the blessing of the children to represent his ministry. Love it!
