Is there any reason these can't/shouldn't be used for an Autoblock?

Did they switch from kevlar to technora on these because it makes harder to tell if it has uv damage?

The original hollow block was made with a fiber called Twaron & when it was no longer available we switched to Technora which does not change the performance of the item. The only way to be certain about degree of strength loss due to UV damage would be destructive testing, and other factors would need to be considered (i.e. amount of use etc.). We ask customers to decide on usage based on the information given in the user document.
