Our side door opens to the outside so finding security gadgets is difficult as most are designed for inward opening doors. Anyone could pick or bump the deadbolt. The Deadbolt Secure arrived today - it only took me twenty minutes to install after reading the instructions and gathering my tools. I'm an older lady and did it myself with no problems, it was that simple and straightforward. Now I have peace of mind concerning that door.

I did not know this existed until I was trying to find additional security on a door that opened outwards in a rental property. I live alone and knowing many people have a key to my door makes me uncomfortable. This has added a ton of security for me to use at night or when I’m home. I know I still have to let the landlord and maintenance in of course, but this prevents surprise visits when I may be showering or such. Now I only wish it could work remotely as well (smart lock). It was incredibly easy to install. Only required the type of screw driver your deadbolt uses. You loosen the deadbolt casing and slip this over it. Then tighten it up again. It’s about a 5 minute install and no damage to the door. The best part is there were a few times someone tried to come in unexpectedly and they worked perfectly. So they’ve already proven themselves. I’m definitely going to have these on all my exterior doors going forward.

The product installs very easily, and is very effective. No worries about it self-closing unintentionally. When in the locked position, there is NO way to bypass the lock. The one problem occurs when not everyone is home and someone (by habit) flips it shut. For that reason, I'd recommend this for people who live alone in apartment buildings (where tradespeople (strangers) sometimes have to enter your unit), but not so much for bigger families.

Works great, but delivery to Canada is expensive, although it says "free shipping." It is not free, it is included in the price!

The description is misleading. It did not fit my lock - not every lock is flat under the lock cover.
