The quality of the book and CD are excellent and and useful for beginner or advanced player. I have been studying Flamenco for years and Paco Pena is essential to the pantheon of Flamenco players and your personal growth as a player. Great pieces to study and perform which includes techniques and fingerings that will have you playing Toques Flamencos in no time at all.The tab and standard notation are crisp and clear and consistent with the audio CD. A fine place to start for those interested in building a repertoire of solid flamenco "standards". ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars 2 songs in and I already love it! *by M***D on Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2016* This is a fantastic collection of solos. If you do not yet know techniques like rasgueos, iami tremolo, reasonably fast pulgar and picado, as well as sweeping arpeggios, I recommend an easier text, such as either of the popular guitar methods here on amazon (Juan Martin has one and Martinez another). Once you have the fundamental basics of these skill down, I then recommend getting a graded study of flamenco guitar solos, my favorite is Juan Martin. Once you reach level 5 or 6, then you will be ready for this book. Everything in this book should be practiced slowly and in compas at first, I highly recommend getting an app which lets you manipulate the speed of mp3 files so that you may be able to listen to it slowly and figure it out. I also highly recommend listening to this disc and other flamenco pieces consistently in your free time, as this is the only way for those of us not living in Spain to immerse ourselves in the art. The notation and tablature are easy to read, but it assumes that you will not require right hand guides as you should already know them at this level. Last but not least, don't let these become your only falsetas. At this level, you should be able to write your own and manipulate the palos to give them your own emotion and character. You should also use free websites and youtube guitar lessons to collect as many falsetas as you can to become a proficient and fluid performer.
