works great after about a year of use
I can connect the box to the pa system, and it works great, the batteries are a little hard to change but they last a long time, just don’t live the cable hooked up to it. After about a year of use I can say it woks pretty good.

Great sound
Very good sound. Make to unplug the instrument cable when not in use (like in the studio) or the battery will run down.

Absolutely no response from meinl or Amazon about problem
Worked well for a few months, but then developed static like sound (I am not a percussionist, but bought as a gift for my drummer). It developed some sound problems. Both my husband and myself attempted to contact Meinl many times without success. After months of this I saw something on Amazon about contacting Amazon if there was a problem with a seller. I completed all the info asked by Amazon but have heard nothing. That was probably close to a year ago. My husband said to just let it go, it is getting to be way too much hassle. So I did, until today. Quickly approaching the end of the 2 year warranty. Decided that airing my concerns was slightly better than being quietly screwed.

Poor quality. Save your $$. See attached video.
The media could not be loaded. I’m getting tired of carrying two mics and two mic stands. I was really excited when I discovered this and really hoped the bad reviews were outliers. After over 30 minutes of messing with it, changing batteries, trying different cables and inputs jacks, messing with the various gain and volume knobs in the signal path…there was no way to stop the popping. See the attached video. Just reeeeally bad quality. Very disappointed. I’ll be returning immediately.

Bend the battery hold down more!
I had issues with popping a cracking coming from the amplifier. I found the battery holdown was a little loose. The popping and cracking would go away if I pressed the holdown to the batteries with a little force. I took needle nose pliers and bent the holdown a little more to tighten up the contact. Problem is resolved now. Product other than that sounds amazing!

Steer clear, you'll need 12 beers for it to sound clear
Awesome thought but absolutely terrible sound! After 3 different amps, install and move to 1200 locations internally, and 3 hours wasted I have deemed this a paper weight. Zero bass sound and constantly crackles no matter what you adjust.I mic my cajons on a regular basis. Thought this would make life easier...the only thing it did was aggravate me...such poor quality. I'll be buying a new mic and returning this-even a passive soundhole pickup performs better for a fraction of cost
