Years later I still use it. Very good quality. The only downside is it has a slight tendency to chip where the blade goes. If you want to keep this for years, always remove the blade and dry the razor. Leather pouch is nice too

Fitting the blade is standard for these types of shavers. The blade is a little more pronounced than other shavettes. This does result in a very close shave but you need to be careful with the angle. First time users, expect a few nicks while you get the hang of it. Give it time, you wont go back to overpriced, underforming cartridge blades.The weight of this is good. Not too light, not too heavy.Combined with a platinum coated blade and you have a great combination. For £9, its a bargain.Looks good too and the pouch is a bonus.

I use this to shave my head bald. The product is light and easy to use. I like the fact where you place the blade and the clasp you use to secure it is small enough so I have no issue cutting around my ears which I found difficult with those razors.Only slight drawback is with the clasp being smaller and less thick it’s sometimes harder to open when it’s time to switch blades. Which could be quite dangerous, however once you get the knack for it should be fine.I would recommend it, I also like the holder it comes with although it is a tight fight.

Make sure you read up and watch some videos on the best technique. I had my first shave with it yesterday and got on ok with only a couple of nicks. I was only using cheap gillette shaving foam and it worked fine. It's best to get some good quality shaving soap and a brush to lather your face properly. Good product overall and good value for money. I'm surprised by some of the bad reviews and expect their experieces are due to user error rather than an issue with the product itself. Make sure you buy some blades to go with it. Only £5 for 100! Imagine the savings on safety razor blades which are at least a quid a pop.

I got into the whole straight razor thing after realising how much money I'm wasting on multi blade saftey razors. I mean seriously, why would I need to spend £15 on a pack of 5 x 5 blade razor heads when I can spend £2.50 on a pack of 20 razor blades - where 1 blade can last me 3 weeks compared to the 4 weeks per razor head!But it is hard to use and when first using this, I did cut myself a lot. It takes practice and patience, but in the end, you can actually get a much more efficient and effective shave from using this compared to razor heads. I would expect the handle to last a very long time as well instead of the handle changing every so often because Gillette decided that they wouldn't support the former model anymore!Really, if you're interested in saving money (and you can save a lot) as well as wanting to improve your hand-eye cooordination and learn a new skill, you should consider getting this!

Had to show my ID for this delivery of this product even though it doesn’t come with any razor blades. Have to pay £5 delivery charge with blades as well as the £5 for this product. Disappointed. However the product design is very neat and smart.
