Not all as promised
Mephisto, a brand have been rating up there with Toyota, IWC,Bose,Mako boats and my Mac Book Pro. Quality. This arrived from buying a pair of Mephisto Shark sandals which I have had for about a year now and worn almost daily, a partnership which has developed into a real love affair. (I live in Central America). At about 280 dollars it took me some thinking before I decided to buy a second pair. Had to be Mephisto and nothing but. As I was in the process of doing this I came across the Allrounder Men's Alligator Sandal. I read the info and the single review and decided to buy a pair for 189.95, still a lot of money. The main reason I bought these and not another pair of my beloved Sharks was the claim: "The cushioned anatomical footbed is removable for washing". THIS IS A FALSE CLAIM. The footbed is glued in there and I would have to soak the sandals in a bucket of thinner to get the footbed loose. I should downgrade the sandal more than a star for this reason but I keep it to the loss of a single star being the sandal is still a high quality item. It ought to be for US dollars 189.95. There is a second star being lost here due to several reasons. One being the damn sandals are made in China! There is no doubt a huge profit margin on these sandals so I wonder what kinds of ethics are driving this company these days to give the manufacturing away to China like everyone else. Another consideration is that these sandals, due to high price and high quality, is catering to mostly a sophisticated buyer. Here is another thing ticking me off; On the footbed, on the area of the front heal behind the big toe there is an circled area highlighted in white reading; "TECHNICAL MASSAGE ZONE".I really would like to know what the hell TECHNICAL MASSAGE ZONE means? To me it means an insult to my intelligence! How much of my 189.95 went to some high prized fool who came up with this stupidity? In addition, the snap closure clips are smaller and of poorer quality than my Shark sandals and the one on the left foot requires excessive pressure to let go.Other than that, the sandals are comfortable (not as comfortable as my Mephisto Shark sandals) and of high quality materials.

Great sandal, but one significant complaint
I'm a longtime Mephisto fan and customer, have bought shoes and sandals for years. The quality is high, and the functional design is generally very good. My one complaint about these sandals is that the plastic latch that holds the top strap in place is very difficult to release. The springy plastic tabs that you must squeeze together in order to free the latch is just too stiff. I'm right handed and it takes all my finger strength in that hand to release the latch on the right sandal, and I can't use my left hand to release the latch on my left sandal. It almost requires pliers. I expected the stiffness of the latch to ease with use, but after three months, I don't think it's going to get better. Note that this latch is a design change from the one on the Mephisto sandals I bought a dozen years ago; that one had a plastic button that was difficult to press to release. Keep working on it, Mephisto!

Deliberately confusing product listing, otherwise seems to be a well-made product.
My biggest complaint about these sandals is that I thought I was ordering a Mephisto product. Nowhere on the site does it tell me that this a different brand, although apparently related somehow to Mephisto. "ALLROUNDER by MEPHISTO" to me means this is a model name, not a different producer.Nowhere in the packaging or on the shoes themselves is there any indication where they were produced. If these are imported into the US, isn't a clear statement of their origin a legal requirement? More important, why isn't the origin stated on the Amazon site? It certainly is not stated on the ALLROUNDER.COM site!

Worth the money
I had a nearly identical pair of these sandals with the Mephisto brand name on them for probably 5 years and I absolutely loved them. Eventually I managed to wear them out - no fault of the sandal, I put a lot of good miles on them before that happened. I bought these hoping they would be the same. They are, the only thing that has changed is the brand name is now Allrounder -- there is no mention of Mephisto on them anywhere. But the fit and all the little details are the same as what I had, and I have no regrets paying this much for such a comfortable sandal I can wear every day all summer.

Built for the heat
This is not a Mephisto, its an Allrounder so if you want one, buy the Shark Fit. I own nine pairs of Mephisto shoes and get them resoled so I never have to retire them. With these I've had them only five months but I put 2-3 hard miles on them in the South Florida heat walking a large dog and my feat stay dry and planted on the ground. Infantrymen appreciate arch and general shoe support and this one has all of that in abundance. I have no trouble jogging in them.

Completely SATISFIED. I HOPE THEY KEEP THESE ON THE MARKET ...
The arch support is adequate for me. I'm relatively flat footed and suffer from plantar faciatis and do not desire large arch fitted shoes. This is a staple sandal for me. I prefer the buckle strap over other styles. Having all three straps adjust is an added plus. I have purchased three pairs of these, two brown, and one grey/black. Completely SATISFIED. I HOPE THEY KEEP THESE ON THE MARKET AS I WILL CONTINUE TO PURCHASE THEM AS I WEAR THE ONES I HAVE OUT!!!!

Allrounder not the original Mephisto Alligator sandal!
I was disappointed that the Allrounder is not the exact shoe the original Mephisto alligator is. They are what I would call an inferior "Chinese knock-off", endorsed by Mephisto. I'll keep them, because they are barely acceptable, but regret paying around $185.00 for them. They are not nearly as high quality as my original French-made alligator sandals that I have nearly worn out. I have looked at several shoe websites, and can't find the originals. Mephisto must not make them any more.
