Great glaze, didnt run!
As a beginner hobby potter, I was nervous about buying glazes and having them run in the studio kiln and damaging the shelves. I just got my first pieces out and not one had a run! I did 9 bowls with this glaze and they range from light blue with green to a more turquoise color. I thinned it down a little with water because it was pretty thick when i got it and i think those pieces turned out better. Easy to brush on!

Best glaze for movement!
The best glaze ever! Can be used in combinations with any other glazes, limitless potential! It creates movement and you can layer it underneath or between or over other glaze, for really cool fun effects! Just be careful to leave a half inch clearance at the bottom of each pot so that the glaze doesn’t drip to the kiln shelf!! The only downside was it did take a long time to ship, I think about 20 days. Even with prime

Not like the picture, but not bad
I read all the comments here before buying, so I know it was a gamble. But I’ve really been wanting to try getting a gold accent on the rims of a few cylinder I slab built. I started out with test tiles of 3, 4, 5, and 6 layers. All remained the dark brown color that others have mentioned, with a slight luster under bright light. Disappointing, but not surprising given the reviews. I also realized I applied layers way too thin. So I tried the rims and applied THICK layers. Unfortunately, this meant that the wet glaze dripped in some places. It’s very dark when applying, so very messy trying to wipe it back without smearing everywhere. I even tried dipping layers on the cylinders (and holding them upside down for several minutes so they wouldn’t run). In total, I brushed on probably 5 layers and dipped 2-3 additional layers (I lost count at some point). I also had a small (~4 in wide) bowl that I was happy to use as a tester. I applied ~6 THICK layers brushed on. All were fired at Cone 6. On the cylinders, where the glaze was brushed on (thicker band) remained very dark brown-black while the dipped band got a little lighter, still a dark brown with a little luster. On the bowl, the color came out a dark copper (think old penny, not new penny) with satin/ matte finish. Similar to the other review where they posted a photo of the inside of a mug. My takeaways: - Apply 5-6 THICK layers - Works better on a larger area - Have realistic expectations. Look at other photos online that show various thickness of application and layering. - Know that the picture here on Amazon, which is the picture from the label, is NOT what you’re likely to get after firing. That said, if you’re looking for a satin matte dark copper, this one is great!

Midnight, meaning DARK
Even using 3 coats, at first glance this could be mistaken as black. With a slightly closer look, you’ll see a nice deep navy blue in this glaze. Only applying 1-2 coats and it's even darker, & mainly black, but it probably will be patchy with some semi-transparent spots. Best results in my opinion is to go all in with 3 coats. It also has a slight texture; the color is plenty opaque, however, it has an almost grainy texture visually, which I love. I love dark glazes, so I was very happy with the results. If you're looking for something "medium" in value, this is not for you.
