Cast Iron 14.5-inch x 8-inch Covered Fish Pan - Matte Black, Made in France

I keep asking myself this question: How did I live without this pan? This baking dish keeps any fish, chicken or veggies moist and cooks them to perfection. A worthy addition to my (soon to be enormous) Staub and Le Creuset collection, it is by far the most used baking dish in the house. One other plus for our household: since the dish is quite shallow, it is a breeze to wash. "Fish plate" is a misnomer since this is sooo much more than that... Love it.

My go to fish cooker. Get the pan hot. Throw in pat of butter and seasoned salmon. Cook for 5 minutes (depending on thickness.) Then take off burner and let sit covered for another 5 minutes. The cast iron pan evenly heats and stays hot longer than other pans. Love it

While i like this fish hot plate it's just not worth the $199.95 asking price. The actual interior size of the plate is 11.8" by 7.5"and the depth is only .75". Just too easy to over flow. Also has no basting spikes in the lid like the cocottes and the brasiers (better values). My solution was to return this item and replace with a lodge 15" skillet for $35. Used like new.

This is great for cooking shrimps for 2 or 3 people, or fish for 2. I marinate shrimp in ponzu sauce, toss them in the pan, cook for 10 minutes and serve from the attractive fish plate. It would also work well for shrimp de jonghe, hot crab dip, broiled tomatoes etc. Clean-up is easy and it is a perfect size when you want a shallow pan for a hot oven. I especially liked using Amazon Prime for 2 day shipping and a better price than in the boutique stores. I use this pan more than I thought I would.

Absolutely amazing product!! It cooks the food perfectly, easy to clean up and super easy to store it. If you second guess yourself whether or not you should buy it... buy it and check it out. You won’t regret it!

The screw to attach the handle to the lid... missing. The enamel... a HUGE chunk missing from the inside of the pan. Going back and NOT exchanging.

Put a little oil in the bottom of the pan and put the cover on. Turn the oven on to blazing hot to heat the pan, usually a minute or two after it beeps ready. In the meantime prepare your fish and get it ready to quickly put in pan. Just pull the oven tray back, take the lid off, quickly put in the fish, put the lid back on, push the tray back in, close the oven door AND THEN TURN THE OVEN OFF. Your fish will be done perfectly in 10-12 minutes depending on the thickness. Yumm Oh yes, I have two and have bought 3 others as gifts. I love this pan.

Todavía no lo he utilizado, pero tengo varios Staub y siempre son excelentes de calidad. Más ligero y delgado que las cocottes, para otros usos. Este tiene un estilo retro muy bonito. Aunque sirve para cocinar, está pensado para cosas más delicadas que largos cocidos. La idea es hacer papillotes y otras cosa, es versátil. Medida ideal para un pescado. Es muy aplanado. El mío venía con defectos de esmaltado en los bordes, pero así estaba descrito y rebajado correctamente.
