This is a brilliant hair trimmer.
I bought this Philips 5000 series hair trimmer as a spare / replacement for another philips self trimmer that had a rotation head that made it easy to trim hair at the back.Settled on the 5000 at a good price on Amazon it's well built and charges up very quick say 30 mins to full charge. It's very comfortable to hold and if you self trim your hair like I do it's very easy to use and does a tidy job.I set it on 13mm for the sides and back & 15mm for the top crew cut style the dial is simple to set the required gauge you want and believe me it does not move when in use it's great.I find holding the trimmer in the normal upright position is best for sides and the top of the head and for the back just hold it upside down with blades facing away from you and trim the back, it works like a dream can recommend this trimmer it's brilliant for guys or gals that trim your own hair.

Best hair clippers I have used!
As have many other men, I have been inflicting DIY haircuts on myself during the pandemic.I had an old set of clippers I had bought from Lidl a few years ago that had been used primarily for beard trimming as well as tidying hair between visits to the barbers. These eventually died, the battery wouldn't hold charge long enough to trim my hair and I was starting to look like the chap out of Human League (for those of you old enough to remember the 80's), long hair one side and very short the other!!!Purchased these because I have a Philips beard trimmer which is brilliant. Took an hour to charge them from new as the battery was totally flat.Used these the first time and wow, not only can I cut my hair in one go now, they are quicker and remarkably easy to use. With my old clippers I struggled to get hair the correct length on top, particularly around the crown but with these they seem to keep the hair within the guides much better and as a consequence I have hair an equal length all over the top with far less effort. I also find they are easier to lift and blend hair at the sides with the top, which I always cut longer than the sides. As with my beard trimmer, the guides stay at the selected length in use (did have a couple of mishaps with the guides slipping on my old clippers) and need a very deliberate action to change the length.Even my wife noticed the fact I wasn't in the bathroom for the best part of an hour when cutting my hair this time and eventually, after much micky taking, did comment on the fact that the end result looked better than normal as I had no clumps, or worse still thin patches. As with any activity like cutting your own hair, make sure you know how the clippers work before starting. This model does not allow for any accidental adjustment of length which is a real bonus. Start by setting the guides to a slightly longer length than you might actually want as I have found different brands have different interpretations of any length selected, 21mm to one manufacturer is 18mm to another...not so bad at longer lengths but potentially disastrous at shorter lengths. When finished, if it is longer than you want then you can go over your hair again with the guide at shorter length but you can't add hair back if you set it too short in the first place as I have seen on another reviewwhere the reviewer blamed the clippers. Just remember the old adage about a bad workman and his tools!Yes, these clippers are good. If they ever die I will be buying the same again.

Effective clippers; simple hair-length adjustment; good charge duration
Very effective clippers with excellent and very simple hair-length adjustment. Duration of charge is very reasonable and probably sufficient for at least a fortnight's holiday... and can be recharged, of course. When used for trimming, short hairs tend to accumulate behind the spacing 'comb' and can block hair, especially fine hair, from being being accepted by the cutting bars, though this is probably an unavoidable feature of this method of controlling hair length.Happy to find a non-US manufactured device to replace my failing, though long-lived, Wahl clippers.

Fantastic hair clippers - highly recommended!
I think this might be the best pair of hair clippers I’ve ever bought in 40 years! A clever system where you don’t need loads of different attachments. Two speed and fully washable this is indeed a fine piece of kit. It can cut down to 0.5 mm two, which is what I wanted. Great quality I can’t fault it.

Philips 5000 clippers
Excellent, light cose charger is on plug not in clippers. Already got corded but find some places you need cordless. So hunted for a long time and this one came along, cose it's self sharpening, don't need oiling wich is good for sensitive skin important for me and way cheaper in price than in big stores. Great. So far so good

Excellent Performance, Let Down by an Outdated Charging Port
The Philips Series 5000 Trim-n-Flow PRO hair clippers are the best clippers I’ve bought. They cut through hair very easily, and the adjustable length mechanism is simple and convenient to use. Overall, they feel well designed and perform exactly as you’d want — I’d happily buy them again. My only real complaint is the charging port. It uses a proprietary charger rather than USB-C, which feels outdated in 2026. Aside from that annoyance, they’re excellent clippers.

Good clippers
Good clippers, with innovative and easy to use guard adjustment (no repeated switching out of clipper heads). Light, but feels substantial. I only need to charge after 3-4 full head trims.Only downside seems to be hair clogging the adjustable head on lower settings; need to clear it out after every few runs, otherwise hair doesn't get cut cleanly. Not a deal breaker.

Good for hair cut ONLY
dont try to trim with no guard you will cut yourself most likely. Very sharp. Good one for buzz cut. Use it for hair clipping or bead clipping but with guard on please. Good machine overall. Would recommend it.
