Big enough to see clearly and know what it is, small enough to be relatively discreet while still eye catching. The one I received was delivered promptly and very well made and finished. No problems with the compass at all. The closure is firm so it won't fall open accidentally, which I like. It looks much more expensive than it is, in my opinion. I chose it as a special gift for the symbolism, and was not disappointed with the execution at all.I had developed a close friendship with a young lady I met through a mentorship program. She became very special to me, but when the program ended, she was moving away for work. I wanted to give her something truly special, as a symbol of my confidence in her ability to trust her own moral compass and succeed. I found and purchased this.
