I have an outdoor lantern with a battery operated time candle in it. It lasted one season. I took out the workings, as the lantern was still nice and then I found this on Amazon. The original candle I had cupped down and had an inset fake flame and that would always fill with water. This candle design has the fake flame on top and is tapered away so water sheds away to resist getting ruined. Plus, the bottom is set to keep water out, even though I have it setting up a bit higher on a stand so it wouldn't sit in any rain water... the weight of using the D cell batteries also helps to keep it in place if the wind picks up. I am VERY happy with my purchase so far. The price is a little higher than most flameless candles, but in my opinion it is worth it.

These don't look particularly great up close in the daylight, or maybe I should say they don't look particularly realistic. But at night they look fabulous when I look out our window and see them glowing brightly and flickering from within the lanterns on our patio. And they look fine inside the lanterns during the day, too. Also, the timers have been operating perfectly. They come on automatically at the same time every evening and shut off on time too. We would definitely buy these again. We've only had them for about a month, so can't say how long they last. But at this point they seem like a good value for the money.

I own several of these and with the battery it has lasted over a year running 6 hours a day. Only outdoor flameless beand I would ever buy!

Best outdoors candles and they are weatherproof. Long battery life as well.
