OtterBox Commuter Series Case for iPhone 5c - Retail Packaging - Gray/White

Wow! Simply all I can say for this case. For starters, I switched from the Otterbox Defender series black straight to this.When I first got my green 5c I purchased a cheap, 14 dollar green ("color matched") bumper case for it to show off its color. The greens didn't match so I went to best buy to purchase a better case. I went all over the store comparing cases, trying them on, and I finally gave up and gave in to the Otterbox craze. I started off with the Defender series case. All black, bulky as all get out, but smooth looking. It had a nice rubber feel. I liked it, until I wanted to take my phone out and clean it. It was like pulling teeth! I figured, since I don't unintentionally drop my phone too often if at all, and I don't have huge pockets to put my phone in, why not get something more sleek? My idea was reinforced when I purchased my Fiancee her Otterbox commuter for her LG G2, and if anyone who has a G2/had a G2 knows, the Defender makes the phone a brick. Anyway, I fell in love with hers so much, the day it arrived I went out looking for one for my phone. Couldn't find any. I came here and found a few, but only 1 I liked, and it was this one.Upon arriving I was blown away by how professional and appealing the case looks. It's a soft gray rubber inside with a matte white plastic outer shell. Very stiff plastic might I add. The screen protector is a breeze to install. All the important ports are uncovered (some may see this as a negative) which for me is okay because I struggled with the port covering for the silent mode switch to the point I almost decided to cut it off. The plastic part takes a little force to get over the phone and the rubbering, but once it's on you'll know it won't come off unless you want it to. Also, something I noticed, the apple logo lines up dead center with this case, whereas with the Defender case the apple logo was sitting at the bottom of the circle.The phone is substantially lighter now that I've switched cases, and it feels good in my hand. I'm not a construction worker, and I also don't go into combat, so the Defender was just too much bulk for me. All-in-all I can't complain, and this case is definitely worth the money! I recommend this 100x again!

So I just got this case a few weeks ago to be honest I've always had trouble finding good iPhone cases for the 5c maybe it's just bad luck but whenever I go anywhere they always seem to be all out of 5c cases! But anyways the case fits perfectly on my phone and protects my iphone pretty well due to the fact that I drop it at least once a day I also like the fact that at the bottom of the phone where the charger is it can fit with any charger which is convenient for anybody who has a case where they have to take it off and then put in the charger! The only downfall I would say is that the volume and power buttons are a little hard to press down on and if you plan on getting the white case which I did it can get a little dirty and you might have to clean it every once in a while (Lysol disinfectant wipes should do the trick just to clean the case)

Great case, thick but not too cumbersome. Purchased for my 15 year old daughter who has managed NOT to crack her iphone while it's in the case. Phone still fits in the back pocket of her jeans and shorts. She has managed to worry at the soft inner part and break it in places but she's a teenage girl under a lot of pressure. Apparently her iphone (and the case) functions as some kind of worry-stone for her. <Sigh>I purchased an identical one elsewhere for myself and love it. I do enjoy that it is a little on the thick side, as I can find it easily when I'm fishing blindly in my purse or backpack for it. Also, when I hold my phone, I don't feel like it's about to slip through my fingers, like it does when my 5c is naked. And I'm a lot less likely to open icons/apps by mistake, just by the way I'm holding the phone.

I wanted to write this review as I was skeptical to buy a Otterbox Commuter for my 5C due to numerous bad reviews on Amazon. I had a Commuter series on my 4S and loved it and just went ahead and made the purchase and I am glad I did. The fit and finish is perfect on the case. I noticed a lot of complaints saying the Apple logo on the back did not line up/was not centered and I would not like that if it was the case either but it was not. The logo lines up perfect and the case is great. The issues are probably due to purchases of counterfeited cases which are rampant on the Otterbox series cases. Just buy only when it says SOLD AND FULFILLED by AMAZON. Do not buy from other sellers or even sellers that are different but fulfilled through Amazon. As Amazon just does the fulfillment for them and often times those also could be fakes. So if you buy direct from Amazon or Otterbox themselves should be no issues!

My girlfriend needed a case for her phone and I was adamant about getting a good quality case as she works outside and tends to drop it and bang into stuff now and then. This case along with a glass screen protector works great. It doesn't make the phone too large and it serves it's purpose to protect it. It's going to save money in the long run since we won't be buying another phone or new screen in 4 to 6 months. Definitely worth the price from Amazon, which was around $16 or $17. I would recommend an Otterbox for any phone. They are good quality and tend to be more affordable from Amazon than in a store. It's definitely worth buying this and not having to buy a new phone. Also, if the phone stays in good shape it will be worth more to sell or trade in when it's time to get an upgrade.

Overall, this was a perfectly acceptable protective case for the iPhone 5C. It was bought to replace a worn out case from another manufacturer. While the case looks good and fits well, there is no real impact protection for the screen, if the phone is dropped and the screen hits something, it will still shatter, so if you're going to drop your phone, make sure it lands on its back or side lol.I did buy a screen protector also, which this case allows so it will have a modicum of protection. I would buy this case again, only at a sale price, which this was.

Fits older iPhone 5C very well, needed a two part case to fit the metal piece of my magnetic mount between the parts

a great case for protection my only complaint is that it makes it difficult to easliy push the lock button on the top of the phone
