Tales From Topographic Oceans Steven Wilson Remix

I'm a "Yes" fan from way back (the 80's). I had this disc back then, but it disappeared. The replacement was even better than the original one. It has been remastered.

Finally delivered. Good quality.

This Steven Wilson remix of Yes's epic Tales of Topographic Oceans is truly unbelievable. It's like listening to the whole album for the first time. The spatial ambience, clarity and the instrumental sections seen to come alive in a way that no previous re-mastered editions have even close to. Highly recommend for any YES fan. A+++

Lo acabo de recibir, ésta es mi obra favorita de Yes y esta es la 4ta versión que tengo. Para lo que costó, es muy pobre la presentación, es un simple gatefold replica del vinilo original, sin cuadernillo ni ningún valor adicional. Este Review será corregido luego para la parte del sonido, sin embargo ya escuché Ritual, y es un poco raro, parece una versión moderna, le falta algo de la versión antigua, es demasiado nítido y limpio el sonido, tiene muy poca emoción y bastante perfección

I still have a couple of copies of this on vinyl, plus an earlier copy on cd. This is marvelous! My early 80s era Japanese pressing on vinyl is incredible, but this new mix brings out a lot of detail and nuance. Stereo field is different here and there, and some of the levels. But, the differences are all very musical, helping with greater clarity. My hat is off to Mr Wilson. I am occasionally tripped up by parts appearing in a different spot, but that change reveals a bit that i never heard before in many cases. A lot of the effects (the panning at the beginning of The Ancient in particular) that had to be done manually during mixdown originally are far more consistent here- adding to the texture, rather than being a distraction. I could go on for hours...Totally worth a listen- or 10.

Yes has always produced spiritual progressive complex music. To that, add Steven Wilson remastering and you have a real gem in this album. Highly recommended and worth the money. Print and read the lyrics as you listen to the CD, so you get to understand what the album is all about. Came as an import in prefect condition.

Great mix, sound, and packaging - worth the price

When your expectations are too high,we can be left with a Flat feeling,when the moment passes.Well,with this my expectations were middling.....SUPRISE!! This whole album BLEW ME AWAY! compared to original version,Rhino version,( CD's n Vinyl) ,Stephen Wilson breaks the mould (Mastertapes,Acetates whatever....).It is BRILLIANT,all the way thru'.A total must for All YES Fans.Highest Recommendation.
