Surprisingly good!
I remember seeing this movie in the video store back in the '90s but I never wanted to get it because it didn't look like my cup of tea and later on I saw it advertised on Amazon years later and I saw that it had good reviews but still I didn't think it was my cup of tea so a month ago I just decided to give it a try and it was pretty good you should check it out!

Brilliant!
This charming movie had me watching again and again. Christopher Cherot is adorable with his story of unrequited love cleverly portrayed as the character Havilland (a javalena with sharp teeth) Savage (barbaric). Starting with an apt quote from Phillipians “I know what it is to be in need and I know what it is to have plenty” the irony sets in. By the end of the movie he has comically destroyed all of his old demons, exposing arrogant braggidocio “oops, you dropped something, a name!”, foolishly drinking the poison of love making his teeth fall out, getting gut punched by a misunderstanding and finally realizing that getting the girl may not have really been what he always wanted. A true gem of a movie and one of the most expertly woven and breezily presented movies I’ve ever seen.

Everybody should see this movie!
The writing and storyline was excellent. It's funny. The casting and acting was superb, and the sound tract is still fire to this DAY!!! I had the sound tract on CD and I wore it completely out! I remember the first day it came to theaters every seat was sold out for every showing but me and my little clique got our tickets. Right up on the screen lol. We complained for bout 5 mins then got drawn into this movie. I was hooked after that. Had the Vhs til somebody got their sticky fingers on it. Anyway, make sure yall watch it with no distractions. Yall gonna enjoy it.

A Classic in Its Own Right!
Hav Plenty is a great telling of a real-life love story between two best friends whose playful tensions bloom through the different situations they encounter with the friends and family of Havaland or "Hav". Lee "Plenty", the other half of this bestfriend duo retells the love encounters in his life through a book he is righting based on the events of a New Years weekend. The first time I saw this movie on the cable channel "STARZ" I was convinced that this movie would be a black romance classic. However it did not get as much attention from critics and audiences as its sister movie "Soulfood". I feel that this movie is a more realistic tale of love and romance and the true depiction of a love-charged relationship between friends of the opposite sex. If you like romances with a realistic feel, this is the movie for you. The acting is nowhere near oscar gold, but the performances are still real and believable. (If you've ever spent a weekend with family and friends, then you know how crazy people can act.) Overall this movie is a classic in its own right. This movie is great for times when you just want to relax and watch a movie with a friend or boyfriend/girlfriend...you will definitely enjoy yourself.
