The unit was not sealed very well, as it had mounting holes on the back that would allow water ingress. I sealed these with silicone seal after installation.They are quite bright; at least as bright if not brighter than the incandescent lights they replaced. And being LEDs they use a lot less power.I cannot comment at this time on how durable they are in the marine environment (I keep my sailboat at a dock in Biscayne Bay). I'll report back if there is a failure.Update 5-6-16: After a year and a half, these lights are still going strong even in the saltwater environment.
