large non collapsible.
Net is large and non collapsible. cannot even be carried in my range trunk. Good product though. Should catch rounds that go sideways out of weapon. If they go over the head, your out of luck.If you put strong magnets under the base it will stay in position if the table is metal.

Works Great, Made in the USA
It's versatile and works well with rifles, pistols, and shotgun. The base is a tubular steel bar with plastic end caps (I filled mine with fine hobby sand to add weight) with a steel triangle frame brazed on. The net frame is lightweight aluminum. It's basically a square fishing net that attaches to the steel frame. There is a section of plastic tubing included that you can mount on the net stud at the back of the triangle to prop open the back of the net if you want. It's about a foot deep and 16" wide so it takes a little bit of bench space, but this wasn't a problem as there's enough room for a CTK rest and this brass catcher inside the lane benches at my range. No problems with the net and hot brass. Used it for my .308 and 5.56 ARs and it catches 100% of the rifle brass if you have it positioned correctly over the ejection port. This doesn't interfere with shooting in any way. Using a tripod, it caught 70% of my pistol brass using different pistols with different ejection angles. Somehow I always seem to leave the range with less brass than I came with, but this product gave much better results than hunting it down amongst other shooters' brass. It saved me a lot of time, lost brass, and bending. Considering the little cheap net bags you hang on your rifle with velcro don't stay in place well and don't work with pistols at all, this is far superior. I do like the picatinny mount box type, but they're a hassle to change rifles, may not line up properly over the ejection port with your scope rings or sight mount, don't work with pistols, and cost about the same as this. CTK makes decent stuff here in the USA, which for accessories like this is rare. It's a little bit pricey, but I recommend it, because I'm willing to pay more for quality American products, and this is a unique solution. There's a long list of reasons you should want to buy American, and this product makes that an easy choice.

Works excellent with my rifles
Works excellent with my rifles. With hand guns shooting bench rest, it is ok. Shooting from the standing position requires being right next to the net. Even then, some cases don't make it into the net. On a windy day, it definitely has to be weighted down. I filled the base with pieces of lead wheel weights to help on the bench. On the tri-pod, I have to place a sand bag on the leg supports. My tri-pod adapter has a pin next to the retaining screw to prevent the base from turning. I will have to drill a whole to accommodate the pin. If the wind is blowing from behind pushing the net into the frame, most of the cases bounce off and fall to the ground. At least they are easier to find. Works well enough I am only having to collect about 15% of my brass off the ground.

Happy Reloader
I almost never rate my purchases, but this thing is awesome! I use it mostly for catching .308 brass from my M1A and my AR-10 at an indoor range. Better than 19/20 brass lands in the net, with the few exceptions falling at my feet. Very hot brass does not burn the netting. Tripod mounting capability is very cool, although I have not used that feature yet. I had to drill a "clocking" hole next to the threaded hole to fit my tripod, but no big deal. The range officers tell me that since I started using this catcher a few weeks ago, that they have seen several other folks also using this product in tripod configuration. They say it works great on every gun they've seen except Glock.Cheers!

Needs more development
This thing didn't work for me. The shape of the net is what's key to a brass catcher. Ideally, you want something like the windsock at an airport. The CTK brass catcher has a very cheap plastic stick thing that is supposed to hold the net back, but I couldn't get this thing to work at all and the net was always too vertical. A vertical net is like a backstop for brass, it all just bounces right out and onto the floor. "Nice brass catcher", other people at the range will say. Also, CTK's brass catcher doesn't fold at all. Its a large, bulky thing to be hauling in and out of the range. During transport, that cheap plastic stick thing is always falling off, rendering the net useless. I ended up returning this and I ordered a brass catcher from www.gracomodels.com instead (not sold on amazon). I'm pretty satisfied with that thing, I'd give it 4 stars.
