A Game of Thrones: The Story Continues [Export only]: The complete boxset of all 6 books (A Song of Ice and Fire)

Perfect set of the series of Game of Thrones books. I can't wait to start reading. Such a great story. I read them once and had to leave them in another country. So I'm excited about reading them again.

I gave them as a gift. The person that received them was very excited. You can hardly go wrong with a book as a gift especially when it was requested.

The shipping took some time, but that's okay. Unfortunately some edges were a little bit squished and the pages are not high quality glued together. Furthermore the writing is VERY small, although it doesn't say "mass market paper back". But still, I really like the book set and it's absolutely reasonable for this price! I wasn't expecting library binding and you get used to the small font. The light weight is also a big plus. The only thing which really pisses me off is, that the first book has a different design from the others and this makes it look really weird in the shelf. It is not as in the picture and this is why I substracted one star. A box set should always have the same basic design. The ugly "NOW ON HBO OMFG THE SERIES ON TV WATCH IT" red banner on the sides isn't very pretty, too.

Les livres sont tous de très bonne qualité. Ils ne sont pas très grands mais cela convient. La boite dans laquelle ils sont me parait un peu petite car les livres en sont difficiles à sortir et surtout à remettre tous ensembles à l'intérieur. Cependant, ils sont très agréable à lire, très bien écrits. Si vous avez aimé la série, vous aimerez encore plus les livres! Le vocabulaire est un peu particulier mais on s'y habitue vite et les mots qu'on ne comprend pas au premier abord sont très faciles à deviner dans les phrases et reviennent souvent. J'aime également beaucoup l'effet 3D sur les couvertures des livres. Et le prix est plutôt abordable compte tenu de la qualité du produit, et sachant également que cela reviendrait à beaucoup plus cher de les acheter séparément à ma connaissance. Je recommande.

Habe bis jetzt Buch 1 fertig gelesen und ein paar Kapitel aus den anderen Büchern angelesen (da ich die Serie bereits gesehen habe). Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit den Büchern. Die detaillierten Beschreibungen machen es einfach sich in die Situationen hinein zu versetzen, und sind meiner Meinung nach auch nicht zu langatmig. Rein auf die Schwierigkeit der Bücher bezogen, für die, die sich nicht sicher wegen dem Englisch sind: Ich finde es anspruchsvoller geschrieben als z.B. Harry Potter aber definitiv leichter zu lesen als Lord of the Rings. Die Unterteilung in die verschiedenen Charakter Ansichten macht es abwechslungsreich und selbst die Kapitel aus der Sicht von jüngeren Charakteren sind sehr überzeugend geschrieben. Im Verlauf der Bücher zeigen sich übrigens vermehrt Abweichungen zur TV Serie, daher sollten Leute die die Serie schauen sich vielleicht doch überlegen mit den Büchern zu warten bis die Serie komplett ist, einfach um sich nicht an den Unterschieden zu stören. Mir gefällt aber bis jetzt beides, Serie und Bücher, sehr gut. Ach ja, was die Box angeht in der die Bücher sind: die ist zwar hübsch, aber ich habe keine Ahnung wie man die Bücher da wieder rein quetschen soll wenn man sie einmal gelesen hat und sie nicht mehr komplett flach sind... Aber das ist ja nicht so wichtig.

This edition feels well made and sturdy: the covers and the little decorations under the chapters' name are really nice, the paper is thick, albeit the print is a bit small. Overall, the quality-price ratio is excellent. The only (small) flaw is the editing, which is a bit old: sometimes the name are mispelled, e.g. in Jon I, AGOT, where Daeron the Young Dragon is called Daeren, but that doesn't impact at all the plot or the enjoyment of the story.
