Works well; inexpensive; no passive PoE
I used a surplus Dell enterprise, rack-mount switch at home for a few years after it was replaced during a business equipment refresh. Recently, it began failing, so I needed a replacement. This D-Link switch was well reviewed and the price was reduced, so I tried it. Everything but one access point worked. I didn't realize that one AP supported active PoE and the other only passive. Since this switch doesn't support passive PoE, it wouldn't power the older AP (a Ubiquiti UAP-AC-PRO). It powered the new AP (a Ubiquiti UAP-AC-LITE) just fine . I didn't realize the APs were different or that there was such a things as active or passive PoE, so I didn't know to look for passive PoE support. The result is that I must use a PoE power injector for the older AP. If that injector fails, I'll replace the older AP with a new one which will support active PoE, which means this switch will power that one, too. I am getting 500 Mbps through the switch using an Internet speed test, which is the limit of my Internet service. I've not done any host-to-host testing to verify Gbps speeds, but it's working well for my purposes. I'm using all eight ports and everything is functioning as expected. All I had to do was plug in the Ethernet cables and its power adapter. I haven't had this switch long, so I can't speak to its reliability yet.

8 Port Gigabit Switch
This is a good product. I have had several of these for over a year with not one problem. The best part of it is its simplicity. Plug it in and forget about it. No need to fiddle with management software. Just forget about it. The front panel is color coded so you can easily see which ports are powered (the yellow ones). It is just the right size for home or small office use. My only, somewhat minor complaint is the price seems a bit high. Maybe that will change. So, no technical review here, just a simple endorsement from an experienced user. If you need a PoE switch, this one works well and reliably.

Perfect for IP phones and small network expansions. Easy setup and consistent gigabit speeds.
We have purchased two of these for my office, and they perform like champs. We used the PoE ports to run Mitel 5224 IP phones and are now running Snom 710 IP phones. The other ports are used to network multiple computers. These switches are always on, consistent gigabit speeds, and compact enough to hide away underneath the desk. Excellent value and perfect for our needs. Thanks, D-Link!

Fast, runs cool, and supports Jumbo Frames
This network switch has been working very well for over a month with no issues. We have it hooked to a Basler GigE industrial grade network camera and we are able to get the cameras full performance using this switch due to the jumbo frame support. Additionally, the built in PoE means we do not need to use the cameras external power supply. Finally, the switch seems to run cool and we have noticed no network problems when running large amounts of data over it. Great switch.

Great price & value to add Power Over Ethernet to your network
Many IoT (Internet of Things) devices e.g. home security cameras, video doorbells, etc want PoE (Power Over Ethernet). This device is recommended by DoorBird for their IP Video Doorbell Stations. Can confirm it works flawlessly. Plug into power, run an ethernet cable from any port (I used a non yellow/non PoE port) to my Netgear X6 Nighthawk router. Worked on bootup. No setup. Hasn't even hiccuped in over a month. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

Great low-cost PoE switch
Snagged one of these to operate a few Ubiquiti UAP-AC nodes. Getting this was cheaper than getting three of those that came with their own PoE injectors, and I don't have to install the APs near an AC outlet so I had more flexibility when deciding where to locate the APs. The install has been in place for a couple months now and I've had no issues. Highly recommended.

Good low cost powered switch
Great little switch. I run two in my office as remote switches to connect work areas rather than to run wires. While Wireless is great, wired is still the most reliable way to connect your network, credit card machines, TV, printers, roku

What I expected
I mainly bought this as an upgrade from a 100Mb/s switch. I'm not using any of the PoE ports (well, I am, but not for power), but got it thinking I may one day use it for a PoE powered video camera. But, as for a GigE switch, it works just fine. My backups from my laptop to my NAS box are faster. Not sure I'm using it to its capacity, but who really does?
