While perfect for the job, the description is off. The holder is designed for bottom mounting, with 2 screw holes. The photograph shows spring mounts on the side.

Doesn’t have a grounds wire and it is very brittle

The quality of this socket is great. However, when I was ordering, I didn't know what I was looking for and realized after receiving it that I needed a 'mogul' base not 'medium'. Otherwise I will find another use for this socket even though I didn't need it in the first place, it is good quality and I could possibly use it for some high voltage vacuum tube experiments if I find any good tubes (even small HPS bulbs would be good) that I could plug into this base type. It has high voltage rated insulation on the leads and in between contacts inside the interior of the socket base.

Exactly what I needed. Make sure you know what size you need... this is a medium base that takes a normal sized lightbulb. I originally ordered one with a "mogul" base and that's huge. I had to keep it and eat the price because it was my mistake. This went into a metal halide lightbulb for a flag pole light. It went in easy and everything works great.

Received what we ordered when promised at a reasonable price. What more could one ask for.
