I bought a new kayak with a good seating system and was going to return this one, but I installed it anyway and it made the new seat even better.

The padding could have been a little more softer, not much difference from bare kayak. Straps held seat in place, but the longer I yakked, the looser it became because the straps kept slipping, making the seats not too secure.

I gave 5 stars because it is sturdy. It's a great seat for my back, but what I was looking for was something that was more comfortable for my butt, this was not it.

The seat cushion is thin, the back support is flimsy, and all the crazy straps and hooks does not allow it to fit all kayaks. I recommend you don't buy, but if you do take a chance, make sure you can try it before the exchange window expires. Over years of buying from Amazon, I can honestly say this is the worst product and poorest quality product I have ever purchased from Amazon . I'm stuck because poor weather prevented me from trying it and returning it in the 30 day return window. Make sure that doesn't happen to you.

I installed 2 of these on my wife's and I 10.4 ft recreational kayaks. These were very easy to install. It did not require any tools. I was able to just clip it on over the existing seat. Me and my wife are able to kayak for hours now in comfort. I recommend these seats if you are going to be in your kayak for any length of time.
