Decent trolling motor for the price
This watersnake is a decent trolling motor for the money. I purchased it for my lost creek angler and Iโve been happy with it. I had to make modifications for it to properly fit down where my peddle drive goes but it pushes my kayak at a good speed. You just have to remember this is no top of the line trolling motor and lower your expectations with it. For my kayak on the high setting it will push me at 3.0 mph on the low setting 2.0 mph. Yes I can peddle faster then that but the benefit is I wonโt tire my self out getting to my spot to fish

Best value of all time for trolling motors on kayaks
Best bang for the buck. Light and fast. Better than bixpy for sure. Not as fast as Newport but saves more amps and can almost hang for 1/10th the price

Better than I had hoped for
The Watersnake T18s ASP motor arrived a few weeks ago but due to floods in SC I was forced to wait to try it out. I easily rigged a mount on my Native Ultimate 14.5โ Kayak. and added an Ever start deep cycle marine battery I picked up at Walmart for $76. The battery weighs 46lbs on my bathroom scale. The 1st test run was in the reservoir (so I wouldnโt have to worry about the tidal currents in the rivers) I ran for about 3 hours most of the time full speed. According to the gps on my phone full speed was 3.5 to 4.5 MPH. Low speed was 2.5 to 3.5 MPH this was with an 8 to 10 MPH wind. My second run was lower Ashley at the slack before and after high tide in a wide part of the river current not a real issue again about 3.5 to 4.5 mph average. My third run was 2.5 miles in the upper Ashley River was able to maintain 3 to 4.5 MPH average even against a strong current. The 4th run was in Charleston Harbor and the Atlantic side of Sullivanโs Island to about ยผ mile offshore. Various speeds and stops at beaches/islands for a total of about 5 hours ran just under ยผ of the time on slow speed just relaxing. The Watersnake performed better than I had hoped. It takes seconds to hook up extremely simple to operate and so far seems reliable. With me 250 lbs. and the battery is 46 lbs plus a cooler and fishing gear low speed is a little faster than I can paddle. High speed just a plus, up to 5.5 mph with the right conditions. These Trips were with almost constant running of the motor so I could see what it will do. Not typical while fishing. During all runs except the 1st I have never discharged the battery more than 1/3. The 1st run the battery level was above ยฝ when done. I still paddle but the Watersnake allows me greater range and I donโt have to worry about struggling paddling home against shifting tides just when the fish start biting. One last note: SC and some other states require you title and register any kayak/canoe with any type of motor. The whole process at least in SC took about 10 minutes and $40.

Cheaply made, and easily breakable parts
The hardware is weak ooastic, the mount doesnโt stay secured to the shaft because the locking mechanism is absurdly cheap and ineffective, and the propeller is so thin itโs absurd. Incredibly disappointed with the lack of durability here. Definitely wishing I had spent 20 more dollars and purchased a Minnkota. Sure theyโre heavier, but theyโre also built to last unlike this plastic joke of a motor.

Fix the bracket
Motor itself is great which is why I give it 3 stars. The bracket is what kills this trolling motor. It does not tighten all the way and will not stay in place on the mount. I was never worried of it falling off, however I would need to readjust it a few times while out on the water. I only had this motor for less than a month and cracked the bracket when attempting to tighten it. I did return it for a refund so I do appreciate the seller understanding. This product would get 5 stars no problem if they replaced the bracket.

great item good price
this motor is great i use it on an 8ft GRP boat on the Canal it pumps us along at 3mph all day long on speed 2 .. its pulling 15 amps so just remember to work out how much run time you want then buy a marine deep cycle battery my 115 amp hr AGM battery gives us 6hrs + run time remember you have to leave 20% in acid batteries... or you kill the battery basically so that gives us 92 amp hrs รท 15 amps pull of motor = 6 hrs run time ... great motor my advice carry a spare prop they cost approx 10 bucks .. ours was basically shot after 18 hrs running ...

This is a peppy little powerplant. Have Haswing (same amps) and it's not nearly as fast!
The motor is wonderful and fast, for the amp draw. My slick kayak maintains 5.5km/h on LOW! First prop was a bit warped but seller made it right, shipping a perfect replacement, next day. Wonderful company to deal with.
