Sun-In Hair Lightener, Lemon, 4.7 Ounce

I have used Sun In for many years on and off. I recently was using the Tropical Breeze variety and it worked great on my dark brown hair. I didn't even realize how much lighter my hair was getting until I compared pictures from before I started using Sun In and after. The Lemon kind is fine as well. Some say the Tropical Breeze has more peroxide and is "stronger". I haven't really noticed much difference between the two. I spray Sun In on my dry hair and just leave it in. I don't even blow dry it or go in the sun half the time. Sometimes, I spray it and blow dry. When it gets warmer, I will certainly go out in the sun with Sun In in my hair because that will speed up the lightening. I like lighter brown hair but it gets damaged when my stylist does it. I get no damage when using Sun In. It's gradual but that's fine with me. It looks natural too. The only thing is that I don't really get highlights. I get all over lightening. It's probably because I don't spray just a few strands separately but just spray it wherever. Obviously where I spray, it will lighten. I have seen pictures of black haired women going blond just from Sun In but that wouldn't happen with me. It just takes me down a few shades which is all I want. In all, it's a cheap and easy way to lighten even dark hair. I have had my hair professionally highlighted and still used Sun In to brighten my look. It CAN turn a bit brassy at times. I recently dyed over my hair with a dark blonde hair color which toned down the brassiness but didn't lighten my hair overall since you can't go from dark to light without bleaching or peroxide. So now, whenever I see that my hair is looking a little yellow or brassy, I will just dye it with the dark blond and I am good to go. I'm pleased with the product and have been for decades. NOTE: The photo I attached is me at my darkest natural color. The second photo is after three bottles of Sun In and sun exposure. It was starting to get brassy so I eventually toned it down but you can see it really does lighten! I do think though that the second picture makes my hair look a bit lighter than it really is. It really depends on the lighting.

I absolutely love this product! I use it to lighten my natural ashy brown hair. My hair is now a lightish brown and I love the natural highlight in my hair. I have noticed no damage to my hair. But I don't use it everyday. If I did I'm positive I'd eventually become platinum blonde. I haven't dyed my hair in years and started using it on virgin hair. I eventually became bored with my hair and wanted to lighten/change the color of my hair with little to no damage. (it took me too long to get long and healthy hair to just mess it, I've grown too attached to it quite frankly) My hair is wavy and the best time to put it in ur hairs is when you hair is still damp from the shower. To evenly distribute the product in your hair, while still damp (towel dry) spray as much or little as you want and then brush it through your hair while still damp/wet. Then after your hair is brushed either blow dry or lay out in the sun. For me, to get extra results after I blow dried my hair, I spray more in areas that I want lighten or all over (just light sprits) then I use a hair straightener. It leaves my hair extra shiny and smooth as well as lightens faster than just blow drying by itself. Though I don't do this very often because I know that heat from blow drying or straightening your hair is damaging, so when I do I put coconut oil serum in conjunction to using Sun In in my hair to help protect it from damage. The great thing is though is the coconut oil serum didn't interfere with the Sun In lightening effects.

I bought this after reading all the reviews and wanting to lighten my hair a few shades. I actually dye my hair with henna, so it is a rich dark red. Using this product is very very easy, just spray on wet hair and either sit in the sun or blow dry your hair. It's not always sunny where I live so I tried blow drying it. I used it two times on my hair and overall my hair looks lighter. It's bringing out the highlights, and more oranges actually. I have no problem with this, but if you do have red hair and don't want an orange tint, it's probably best not to use this. It smells really good, and conditions your hair too. It never felt like it was drying out my hair, or damaging, and I have very thin hair. Great product

As I neared my 44th birthday, the gray hairs were starting to come in. I have always hoped that when the gray struck, I'd be an enlightened woman who didn't feel that she needed to hide her gray. My hair is short and curly, so I wash-and-go. I don't wear make-up. But, alas, as I was looking under the fluorescent lights in the bathroom at work, I did not like seeing those gray hairs popping up. Where I live, many woman have kids at age 20. People already mistakenly assume that I am my children's (ages 11, 9, and 8) grandmother. And that's without gray hair. So, what to do? With 3 kids and a full-time job, I can barely make it to the hairdresser's every 3 months for a quick cut. I really didn't see how I'd fit in a color. And then there's the expense. Coloring at home was not attractive, as I'm not very coordinated when it comes to arts and crafts. I could only imagine that I'd do it all very unevenly. "If only there was something easy, like Sun-In," I thought. Back in the early 1990's, I used Sun-In during my college years. I was a lifeguard in summer, and I loved having my hair look lighter. I continued through the school year with Sun-In and a hair dryer, and my dark brown hair turned into a nice caramel. I loved it. Well, what do you know? Sun-In still exists! I read a little bit about it, and bought a bottle. After just 2 treatments with the hair dryer, the hair on top of my hair is lighter and the grays much less visible....even under those fluorescent lights. So I'm going to continue with once a week treatments to achieve a very subtle, but meaningful, change. I don't think the grays are gone, but they aren't showing up against the lighter hair as they did against my dark hair. It really is a remarkable difference. I know that won't work forever. But perhaps by the time I'm all gray, I will have become that enlightened woman who doesn't care and embraces her age. A girl can hope!!

I don’t have time to spend in the sun so I use my hair dryer on hot setting and get a nice result.

Old school product..does a great job in lightening your hair. Wash your hair after you come in from being out in the sun because it leaves a slight odor of hair dye.

Me súper sirvió para aclarar mi cabellito ahí adjunto fotito de mi antes y después eso si no te deja un rubio obviamente pero te aclara a la tonalidad como canelita o así si eres de cabello oscuro, si eras ya rubia de nacimiento pues supongo que si te deja rubia jaja, yo no me asoleaba solo con mi secadora aplicaba calor después de echarme el producto
