Beautiful
Looked amazing at our wedding. Didn’t smell and didn’t stick together as bad as some said.

Excellent Product! Best value for money
Rose petals came in excellent condition . No strange, fishy smells as other reviewers claimed for other products, actually smelled good. The colour was very dark as advertised, looked rich and natural. If you want it even darker, leave some petals layered.I best value for money! Will definitely be buying again from this particular seller.

Stinky? No, not really
First of all let me address any concerns about the odor. Yes, if you bury your nose in to the bag you will smell a fishy odor, but this will not translate into your application. Scatter these on a tabletop or onto a bed and you will not be offended. The odor is caused by the glue used in the manufacturing process. These odors will dissipate quite quickly once allowed to air out. I got the ones that are not bright red but instead burgundy with a little bit of black near what would be the base of the petal. They are absolutely perfect looking. Technique for separating the petals: hold each cluster of petals with the curve of the petals laying in the thumb of your weaker hand and use a moistened forefinger of your primary hand to flick through, like turning a page in a book, holding the petals over an open container of some kind and they will separate very quickly. These are very thin, so you will be surprised to find that what feels like a fully separated petal still contains two or even three additional petals.

Really bad! But that goes away if you wash them. So that's really not an issue that's a big deal.I've included pics of the steps I took for these to be used. Total time was 1.5 hours. So you can see by the pics how they arrive vacuum packed. The petals are in lumps, they are lightly glued at the tip of the clumps where they gather (see dark point of the petal in the picture of what looks like one petal). There's about 100 of those chunks that you'll need to separate. What I did was stand by my bathroom sink (being sure to use a sink strainer screen in the bottom because they flake off a lot of lint ), and I wet my fingers then just sorta swiped my thumbs at the ends while holding it tightly with my other hand. Almost like counting money that's in a stack ( or so I assume as it never had a stack of money). See video for this process. Then I placed them all in a zippered mesh garnet bag and put that in the washer with some soap and fab softener. I washed it on delicate, but I think you could just soak it in your bath sink as well with whatever soap u want to use. I just happened to have delicates that also needed washing. Now here's where it gets important to say -- USE A FEW DRYER SHEETS IN THE BAG! Not just in the dryer. Why?Cause when I pulled the bag out of the dryer and unzipped it, these suckers static cling stuck to me and everything around me and it look like I was tarred and feathered with petals. So I eventually got them all back in the bag by keeping my hands wet while handling them, and I put a few dryer sheets in the bag and a little water, and dryer it all again and it came out great. So yes I recommend these, but just be aware there's some work involved. Which was all worth it as they're beautiful.

I LOVED THEM
I ordered 2000 pieces for $10. They come packed so condensed that you get scared and yes they have a product die smell which smells just like baby kitty kat. I used a 15 quart bin filled it half way with warm water and two tables spoons of fabric softener and dropped one pack of petals into it. I separated the petals in my both hands by rubbing my fingers through them this took all of 30 minutes. I then used a strainer and poured the wet petals into it and sat them there while I did the second pack. I moved them into a jersey knit laundry bag and when the second pack of petals was done I put them in the dryer on the cool mode for about 30 minutes and voila !!!!! I’m using them for my mans birthday and they are perfect !

Not bad
I ordered this to decorate the bed in the hotel where I will propose to my finacee...and originally was going to buy flower petals at a flower shop but was worried they would look bad since I was traveling to another country. Then I decided to look on Amazon for some ideas and fond these. They are perfect for what I wanted....they look real to me...they do have a silky/paper mache feel to them which is fine. They also do have a tiny "fish smell" but I'm sure if you leave them open a couple days it will go away. It is really not that strong. I barely noticed it until someone mentioned it. In regards to separating them, they come in stacks, so I just lick my fingers and split them like turning pages or counting bills and they come apart fine. It can get a little annoying and boring since there are so many but I did not need to use the entire pack. So I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

overall pretty good.
Okay, I ordered these on feb. 13 for my special lady on Valentine’s Day ! I was of course, very skeptical. But hey for the price and prime.. what could go wrong?! I received them just in time to get my place ready for the big night. First, for 2,000 pieces I really appreciate the fact they’re sectioned off like this cause god knows what I woulda done w 2,000 rose pedals in one night. HA! so I took 2 glued together petal “packs”? . Now this is probably what you came here for .. the smell. honestly, yes they do stink. BUT!!! I didn’t even notice until I put them up to my nose to take a wiff! But I did have some.. PG-13 things I had in mind with these “rose petals” sooo.. as pictured I let them soak in the sink w a dash of laundry detergent for about an hour, occasionally mixing them around. Now I would recommend separating them when wet. (All things are better when they’re wet) honestly separating them wasn’t that bad, unless you’re using all 2,000.. then .. ya’know .. have fun! BUT! After that, I let them dry and as u can see they serve the purpose ! Look nice, give you that petallike feel and they rock in the tub !!’ BUT WASH THEM PLEASE!

you can wash them and perfume them anyway as you like..
Ok so the other reviews are correct...they do have a smell...but their fake flower pedals peoole....you can wash them and perfume them anyway as you like...does takes some time to get apart I agree..but holly hell theirs alot in there.worked out great...men if ur buying these...soak in the body wash u use that she likes for 24 hours..pour it all in and add a little water in a leak proff container and shake..let it sit 24 hours and then rinse...if they smell do it again..I used something I got from bath and body so good luck with what u use. Separate like counting money in the water...makes it easier...but not with soap on them...to slippery.

but the worst thing about them and reason for my low rating
Petals are definitely not "silk" but some kind of thin scratchy plastic material. Huge pain (literally my hands hurt) to separate all the petals from each other. They worked for what I wanted them for, but the worst thing about them and reason for my low rating, is the disgusting smell. These things stink like dead fish, and not just when you put them to your nose, the smell filled the entire rooms in which I used the petals. And this was AFTER I sprayed them with a mixture of white vinegar/lemon juice and put them in a pillow case with 10 scented dryer sheets and put them in the dryer.

Look great but time consuming
I bought these to spread over the floor and bed to add a little romance and they worked great. They look fantastic and give the rose petal look without the ants or staining or mess. Warning: They do come packed together tightly and you have to spend quite a bite of time separating each petal and it does get tiresome and almost painful from all the friction of rubbing your fingers to separate them. Also, there is a bad odor (its mild) at first, but once they air out for a few hours, theyre perfectly fine. I used less than half of the petals and it was still plenty to create a path from the door to the bed, write out I <3 U, and cover the bed in petals. I can hardly imagine a scenario where you need to use all 2000 petals. Maybe if youre covering a whole living room area.
