I have a problem I bough this for a Xmas gift for Some one and they had notified me a week ago that the battery is not holding charge properly ..i

I believe the item has a 90 day warranty so immediately contact Amazon or the seller as the earlier customer advised. This problem should be a covered one. I do agree that the charging cable should be an authorized Apple cable.

I would go through AMAZON. They would have the most direct way of reaching and communicating with the seller. I bought 2 of these refurbed Apple iPad Air 2 64 gb and both are working perfectly, so I do not have the same shared experience. I had considered purchasing an extended warranty (square trade) and your experience may have me re-think this and go ahead with an extended warranty. However, mine are working just fine.

So, can i upgrade to ios 10, or whatever is the newest air os?

Everything upgrades automatically. It's great that way. It pops up to let you know and you just hit "ok".
