8 Inch Wheel Fork Caster Drive Front Fork Drives Replacement Parts for Wheelchairs,1 Pair

Got these for a friend who lost a fork while travelling. We needed something that would work for her until she could get a new set, and we needed it ASAP. These were one of the only options that would work for her chair, but they did work and that’s what matters!

Used these to replace bent forks on a Medline 12" rear wheel aluminum transport wheelchair. These appear to have a stronger design than the stock forks on the Medline. They are close to a perfect fit. The only thing I tweaked was I used a die to cut about an 1/8" more threads onto the shafts. On these replacement forks the shafts are about 3/16" longer than the stock forks and the threads don't go down the shaft as far. Not sure that there would be enough threads to get them all the way tight so that is why I made the threads longer. You could achieve the same result by just adding a washer under the nut to help take up space if needed.

These do not swivel, rotate.. not a good use for front wheel replacement..

I ordered wheels for my electric wheelchair. These rear caster wheels came with a smaller id (inside diameter) wheel bearing so these forks saved me time on altering the original parts that had a wheel bolt too big in diameter for the wheel bearings. Shop prices are so high along with everything else these days that I probably saved $500 on repairing worn out rear caster tires. So far these caster forks are worth every dime.

Wish the forks came with nylock nuts to ensure they didn't back off. I suspect it will stay in place but the added security of knowing would have been a major plus.

these were perfect replacements for my husband’s wheelchair after a visit to Tanglewood, where the driver of the vehicle that picks up disabled people managed to break our wheelchair, trying to pass it through too narrow an opening. I think they’re pretty universal.They are a little hard to use for a novice such as myself, but with practice, I can get them to work.

10/10 I would recommend, I went from 1 inch wide wheels to 2 and I no longer have problems with cracks in the concrete or bumps needing a wheelie to get over. I got MS and being stuck in a wheelchair sucks but almost sliding off the seat and falling on the ground double sucks

These were good a sturdy, but we're the wrong ones for the wheelchair I have.
