Sketch with Asia: Manga-inspired Art and Tutorials by Asia Ladowska

I absolutely love this book! It's so beautiful to flip through and has a high, professional, quality. This book definitely has a fair number of tutorials, including examples for digital painting or using copic markers, but it's not near as tutorial-oriented as other art books I've had. If you're looking for an in-depth how-to-draw, this probably doesn't have everything you're looking for. About 1/4 to 1/3 of the book is more focused on her journey up to this point and general art advice that she's learned over the years. I thought it was all well done and very fascinating. With art tutorials so accessible online these days, I enjoyed the break from purely instructional, and a chance to get to know her a little more. 10/10 Would definitely recommend!

Nice one. Very cute and inspirational

I've been a fan of Ladowska's work for a while, but couldn't afford this during the kickstarter phase, so Im very happy to see this on Amazon! I love this book, and it's even better than I had expected. Not only does she give her (super relatable) story about how she got started and show off her works, but there are great tips that have really helped me out with my art as well. The step-by-steps and tool guides are great, and her little bits of advice throughout the book are very well written.

So this is amazing for new artists and in my case thats perfect because I'm starting to teach myself art and developed a style. I found a lot of my favorite parts are where she gives valuable information based off real life experience and helps reign in some ideas and set constructs to follow to become a great artist with patience and dedication! Also she is very thorough about describing the equipment she uses and I love that. Her shading is fantastic

It's pretty pricy but the art is beautiful. I'm still happy with the purchase.

It’s a great visual book with a lot of tips but not for basic beginners. If you already know how to draw and get stuck or want beautiful inspiration, buy it. If you’re a beginner, you can buy it, to use later

Flipped through the next day I got it. And I have to say I was a bit surprised. I expected a collection of nice pictures, but it has seriously nice and useful tips. In fact, it does talk about the things I absolutely miss from most books like this, though it does not cover them all, its not a Perfect absolute awesome book, but its still better than 90% of them. It feels honest and the pictures are so nice I drool over them. I am not regretting buying it! I can recommend it more then most of these books!

I probably own close to 200 artbooks and I keep coming back to this one for pointers. Insane quality. In my top 5 all time.

If you already read one of the other books that explain how to draw basics in more details, this will be a wondefull book to learn some more things as well as get tips and tricks from another artist. If you are just starting out from zero, this book has a few basics on how to draw a face but is missing and assuming you know the basics of drawing hands and body. It does offer you some more tips on improvement. I especially like colouring tips for hair. Would definetly recomend checking out the book for those who already know the basics.

Ich kenne Asia von Twitter und Youtube und fand ihre Zeichnungen so schön, dass ich mich dazu entschlossen habe, sie mit dem Kauf dieses Buchs zu unterstützen. Das Buch ist toll geschrieben, zuerst finden sich darin Inhalte über Asias Leben, Karriere, Inspirationen und Motivationen, was mir sehr gefallen hat (ich habe das Buch inzwischen fast komplett gelesen). Ich zeichne selbst sehr gerne und mir haben ihre Hinweise über Skizzen, Zeichenblockaden und wie man Inspiration findet sehr weitergeholfen. Die Bildergalerie ist wunderschön und das Buch toll gearbeitet. Der beste Part sind jedoch die Tutorials. Asia erklärt sehr anschaulich die verschiedenen Schritte, wie sie ihre Zeichnungen umsetzt, wie sie Charaktere kreiert und sowohl traditionelle als auch digitale Werke gestaltet. Ob und inwiefern das Buch für Anfänger geeignet ist, kann ich nicht mit Sicherheit sagen, da ich schon viele Jahre hobbymäßig sowohl traditionell als auch seit 3 Jahren digital zeichne, ich würde jedoch behaupten, dass für jeden etwas dabei ist, ob Anfänger, Fortgeschrittener oder Profi :)

Asia è fantastica e spazia dalla pittura digitale a quella con i MARKERS..

Me ha encantado. El inglés es de un nivel muy accesible, Asia motiva muchísimo a los que son novatos en el campo del arte, las ilustraciones son, como cabía esperar, preciosas, el papel y la impresión son geniales y los consejos, aunque un poco básicos, también son muuy útiles. Da consejos tanto a la hora de trabajar en digital como analógico.
