This, I think, is so much better.1. It's smaller. In fact, I think it's a perfect single serving size whereas the other product was at least twice the size.2. It's less expensive per unit. As it should be because it is smaller.3. It tastes almost identical but the little bit of Quinoa adds a nice light touch4. It is super convenient. Simply pull back the tab to vent then microwave for one minute, and Voila!I'll add my favorite recipe (use) for this product.I shop at Costco and will buy their $4.99 roasted chicken. I nuke the rice, cut up some chicken, throw in some Herdez Salsa Casera, and top it with the shredded Mexican style cheese (also avalable at Costco). It's a super simple, super fast, super delicious meal. With another Minsley product, the Cooked Quinoa, that has worked extremely well so far. With these, not so much but still possible.First, the serving size is substantial and is more than adequate for a single meal. However, when you open it, the product is very dry and not very edible as-is. I decided to try soaking it for a few minutes by adding some Extra Virgin Olive Oil and some sea salt. After a few minutes, the product was o.k. to eat without microwaving. I'm sure it would taste better and have more moisture after microwaving, but it is perfectly edible without doing that and that's what I wanted. Therefore, you can take this on a hiking or camping trip, just bring some olive oil to moisten it.
