Victorinox beauty
It’s a beautiful knife. The quality is superior. Blade locks in for safety. Great for outdoor adventures. Worth the price. Makes a great gift.

Light duty bushcraft tool
The usual excellent fitment and quality control one expects from Victorinox. The Forester is the more bushcraft oriented tool than the comparable 111mm One Hand Trekker. The larger non-serrated blade is easier to use simply because the spine is flat and more comfortable for resting the thumb when carving and the lack of serrations makes it far easier to sharpen/strop. Don't dismiss the corkscrew as it is useful for loosening knots and serves as a handy storage device for holding a 3/32 inch ferrocerium rod. Wrap the rod and corkscrew with some heavily waxed jute twine and you have excellent tinder for fire starting. Use bees wax as it is slightly sticky and will keep it adhered to the corkscrew and rod. The back of the saw blade also serves as a very good striker for a ferrocerium fire starter rod. The saw is certainly adequate for cutting notches and the like. This is a fairly large knife and a sheath/pouch can be a more comfortable way to carry it. Victorinox makes a pouch or you can make your own by waxing some cotton demin and hand stitching it into a usable carrier. Waxing the cotton demin will make it water repellent and in an emergency it can serve as tinder for a starting a fire.

You can't go wrong with a SAK!!!
Swiss Army Knives made by Victorinox are still the best out there and still a fair value. Overall the Forester has what I need, a locking main blade, awl and a great little saw. I spend most of my time outdoors in the desert southwest region, so this meets all my needs because I'm not dealing with large diameter trees. I like this larger format as a one tool option over the standard size.

Lighter than expected, but wish the saw also had a lock on it.
I wanted a pocket knife with a decent saw blade to cut small branches for a twig stove. Couldn't decide between this or an Old Timer Buzzsaw Trapper and ordered both. Both saw blades were almost the same length, but the Old Timer's saw teeth felt more aggressive. The Old Timer's saw blade locks but the knife blade doesn't. The Victorinox Forester saw blade doesn't lock, but the knife blade does, but I don't think I would need to worry about the saw blade folding on me unless I'm using it's square back to strike a ferro rod. In the end, I'm deciding to keep the Forester and return the Old Timer as the Buzzsaw Trapper had other issues that I won't mention here. I've had Victorinox pocket knives since I was a young boy and I've never been dissatisfied with their quality. Regarding 3 stars on lock feature: knife blade and screw driver has lock, but saw blade doesn't even though the saw blade has a perfect spine for use as a ferro striker. Note: I'm a lefty, so I like the left handed lock on the knife blade. Regarding 4 Stars on Ergonomics: It's close but not a perfect hand fit. Regarding 4 stars on the light weight: It's lighter than I expected, but it is a large pocket knife and I don't think it would be considered a lightweight knife. Overall I gave it 5 stars because it exceeded my expectations. (I knew the saw blade didn't lock before I ordered it.)

Instantly loved it.
Instantly love this thing. I was afraid It would be too small, it's not, it's a perfect size. It's a serious Victorinox compared to all the normal (tinker, huntsman, etc ) ones. From the second I put it in my pocket, I didn't want to be without it. This is definitely the economy version of the 111 mm victorinox... but I think the one-handed ones are kind of ugly to be honest and bulky. This thing would be great for hiking, backpacking, bushcrafting, hunting, camping, foraging, as a gift for someone who doesn't like knives, even self-defense if you had to. You could open it one handed if you had to, and practiced. I'd definitely buy one again; love it. I included a couple photos. one with some comparable knives, the rat 1, the cold steel ti-lite, and a full size tinker.

Too big to be a pocketknife, wish they made a 91mm or smaller version
I have fond memories of my old Vic Spartan that I bought with paper route money when I was about 13 (a kid could buy pocketknives like this back in the ‘80s). I spent many an hour in the woods, sharpening sticks or whatever. The one thing I always wished that old knife had was a locking blade. Wenger made a smaller (85mm) series with a locking blade but the lock lever sticks out awkwardly. Vic still sells some of those models in the evolution line (look for an s in the mode number). When these 111mm knives came out with locking blades, I tried the German green model. It has an almost identical toolset to this one, but the blade is partially serrated and has the one hand opening loop. Both knives have the liner lock, which is what I was particularly interested in. I like the liner lock and don’t mind that it is opposite to most liner lock knives. I did not, however, like the one hand, partially serrated blade of the other knife. So, I tried this one, with a more traditional shaped, non-serrated blade. I like this blade better, but this knife is just too big to comfortably carry in the pocket. The blade is larger than needed and kind of looks ridiculous when open, something about the shape of the older knives but much bigger just looks off. I love Vic SAK knives, but they are not heavy-duty tools, they are for the occasional task that you are too lazy to go get the proper tool for. I really wish Vic would make a scaled down version of this, maybe about 91mm like the Farmer. That would be, in my opinion, the ideal size for this sort of knife. At this size, there are better options made of better steel. This may be a decent, economical, just in case tool for hiking or maybe camping. It is fairly light and the size wouldn’t be an issue in a backpack. But I think I would take a regular SAK model (Farmer, Spartan, etc.) with a Mora Companion HD for camping/hiking/backpacking.

Mükemmel
Bu sanırım 10. Victorinoxum.
