Exactly what I was hoping for

If you want a heavy duty spoon, you've found it. The title stated basting spoon, but don't let that fool you. This spoon is probably as heavy duty as it gets. I bought it to stir tomatoes in a deep pot when canning. The spoon had to take the torque of turning the tomatoes and basic stirring without bending. I am well satisfied. Bought some of the Winco stainless clad bottom pots and well satisfied with the heavy duty there also. Concord makes some big clad bottom stainless pots also, that are great. Always compare the weights when comparing advertised heavy duty items. If it's really designed as heavy duty, it will be heavier.

I was very happy when I received the spoon and it was even more heavy duty than I was expecting.

This is a solid heavy spoon that feels good to hold. It isn't think sheet metal like most of the others, and it is well finished enough that the edges don't bite into my hand. It's long, but I have a 40 quart pot for making huge batches of stock in, so this spoon works well with it.

I work in an Elementary School Cafeteria. I was tired of stirring boiling pots of noodles etc. with the average 13" spoon. This spoon is a game changer for me. Keeps my hands away from whatever is boiling in my pot, gives me better grip & control when stirring.

For a long time I as use wooden one. But I'm glade I got this one. It worry free and easy to wash and good as new. The wooden one is going softer and softer and I find not good
